Stayed here on the 13th of October in a connected family room 6/7. Was astounded by the condition of the rooms, especially as reviews were good. As the photos below show the room was dated to the point of falling apart, not clean and the mattress on the double room was appalling. Worst rooms we have ever!!! We would not have stayed the night if we had not had a child with us and were worried we would not get somewhere else at short notice at bush holiday time.
Food was ok but stayed here for four nights and the rooms were not worth the money. Very tired, run down and small. Bathroom was the same. Had been painted some time ago badly with paint everywhere. I’m glad my firm paid and not myself.
Just decided to have a drive up to Gullane and Muirfield. Been to the Duck Inn before and can recommend it no problem. Even though the situation at the moment isn’t the best the staff where amazing. Food was top class. Even our little boy Radley the dog was given special treatment.. Thank you all for your kind service and help..
Stopped by here for a spot of lunch and sat out in one of the many outside areas (we chose the courtyard). They have the choice of a restaurant or bar menu depending on how much you want to eat. We opted for the bar menu and the lunch boxes. We had the squid rings and burger boxes. They were delicious and we would highly recommend dropping in for a bite to eat if passing. Great to see it is cyclist friendly too. Not the cheapest of lunches but they were good quality.
I only live 10 minutes away but have never eaten here before, although there is a restricted menu just now there were good choices for each course, food was delicious, well presented and portions were ideal, staff were very friendly and service was excellent, I look forward to going back when normality resumes
