Just back from three nights with friends at Worgret Manor. We were a bit apprehensive due to some very poor reviews from 2013, but we need not have worried. The rooms were lovely, clean and recently furnished. The welcome was very friendly, and the breakfasts excellent. Kathy and Ray offered us tea on arrival, provided wine glasses for us to...

Stayed here for three nights last month, the new owners are still in the process of redecorating it but what's been done so far is lovely. Currently there's only three rooms ready and they've been redecorated beautifully with brand new bathrooms. The redecorating didn't impact upon our stay at all and we had peaceful night's sleep. The windows are double...

The Worgret Manor is a comfortable place. Recently re furbished to a good standard. Bed and breakfast in a clean neat environment. Yet with character. Well located for road trips to Dorset, Swannage and Poole.

We stayed for one night for a wedding. We booked last minute and the hotel was flexible about our check in time as we were off to a wedding that afternoon. We got access to our room early, which was much appreciated. I won't repeat what other reviewers have said about it needing a bit of a spruce up, suffice...

We arrive in the dark, there were no lights on, the entrance wasn't obvious, the entire end of the building was scaffolded, the restaurant was closed and semi derelict, the garden was unkempt, there was only one other car on the car park. we thought we were in the wrong place! The man on reception was friendly and helpful. The...

we stayed recently in room no 1. The staff was friendly and helpful they gave alot of advise on where to go and places to eat. It was a Very clean hotel, the breakfast was continental style. Only downfall was, that it was a bit of a walk into town to find a place to eat in the evening.

Such friendly, welcoming and seemingly dedicated staff. Beautiful house, that despite best efforts of the staff, is battling against age and need of financial injection. Rooms a bit damp and musty, however nice and clean. The lounge areas are lovely. Would stay again because of the nice staff. Thank you

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Worgret Manor is a traditional Georgian manor house nestled in the heart of the Dorset countryside. The historic grounds on which it stands are mentioned in the 13th century Magna Carta. We offer en-suite accommodation including flat screen T.V's with Freeview, complimentary tea/coffee making facilities, free Wi-Fi, private off-road parking and of course full English breakfast. We have a comfortable, sun lit seating area in the lobby which is perfect for browsing the daily newspaper. During the summer months you can enjoy a tea, coffee or even breakfast in the patio courtyard. We are in the heart of Hardy country surrounded by beautiful Dorset countryside. Attractions close by include Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum, Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove and Lulworth Castle with it's hugely popular annual music event "Camp Bestival". We are just one mile from the Saxon town of Wareham which has a good selection of restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs. The town is one of the gateways to the Purbecks and the Jurassic coast line, England's first World heritage site. Wareham's mainline railway station (to Waterloo) is just 2 miles away and the heritage Purbeck line which will run between Wareham and Swanage opens shortly. A warm and friendly welcome awaits you. ... more   less
