We stayed with our two Grandchildren in the Family Room No 8. The Room was clean but needs decorating and had only one Wardrobe and two draws to store all out Clothes. Breakfast was average and took twenty minutes to arrive after ordering. We did not eat in the evening because we were told that because we were with two...

We often choose not to respond to reviews as opinions are subjective and sometimes it can sound petty not respecting a guests point of view. However in this instance we must challenge the suggestion that we are not family friendly. We have 26 interior tables and do not feel it appropriate for under 18s to be sat on the four...

I stayed in Room 1 which was dual aspect and absolutely huge with a super king size bed and large shower room off it. I felt quite spoilt as I was on my own stopping over for one night on business. the room had good views ob both North and West Streets which have a good range of both independent...

The Red Lion is a great old coaching inn, newly refurbished. the bar was great and welcoming and the beer was good. Unfortunately the food on Saturday was really disappointing, over cooked, dried out and tough as old leather. They even managed to basdly cook a cheeseburger for our 7 year old. Hopefully they will have a new chef if...

We have eaten there four times already during our 2 week stay in Wareham, very friendly and welcoming team with a good stocked bar and great home cooked meals on offer with lots of variety . We have dined out every night of our stay in the varying pubs and restaurants in the town , I work in hospitality and...

OK for 1 night, staff were pleasant, but service a bit lacking during dinner. Room clean and nice touches like water, coffee, biscuits. Our bathroom was quite small, but again clean and nice toiletries. This is no reflection on what the hotel can control, but we had a room at the front and on Saturday there was a lot of...

Very warm greeting on arrival, and a comfortable room (though with a slightly medical feel to the bed, for some reason). Very good meal - ham, egg, chips and peas - only let down by the slightly dried up peas. Would happily stay again.

I love it in here... It's such a shame it's always so quiet though! It's a restaurant/pub that deserves to be busy!! Great food, great choice of beers and always very good cheerful service!! I live in wareham and love to pop by when I can on a Sunday as their roasts are immense!! Thoroughly recommended!!

Stayed for the weekend its a nice bar and although its in the town you aren't on the locals bar run. Staff very helpful parking is a bit of a mare though. Plenty of choice for breakfast. The only downside to the room was no proper shower only a handheld one over the bath. Will be back if down that...

We stayed for one night in room 3. It was a nice, large, bright room. We had a spare bed in a separate little room too. It was clean and nicely decorated. The bed was a bit uncomfortable but ok. It was a little noisy from the street outside and the church clock singing its chimes every hour! The bathroom...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Red Lion, after years of neglect, has undergone a refurbishment totaling around half a million pounds. The Red Lion now boasts 8 individually designed bedrooms, all of which are en-suite and some are suites. We have a formal restaurant, a relaxed snug dining area and comfortable bar with a great selection of lagers, ales, wines, premium spirits and champagnes. We are situated on the town cross in the centre of Wareham, the gateway to the Jurassic coast. Wareham is beautifully placed to tour the South coast. NB Please disregard any comments pre-July 2011 as they relate to previous operators. ... more   less
