I love staying at this place. It is always immaculately clean, the staff are always friendly and the food is out of this world. Many people complain about the town hall clock but I find that enchanting. You get used to it and it doesn't keep you awake at all. The only negative is the lack of parking. there are...

We stayed here for 2 nights earlier this year and we all enjoyed ourselves, the bar and service was exceptional and the evening meals are very good but the breakfasts are out of this world, both of our rooms were well presented and our room on the top floor even had its own " all night alarm clock " courtesy of...

Booked 2 nights away following exhausting house move to unwind and relax - chose the exact location! Double room was clean and tidy - would benefit from abit of attention to bring it right up to scratch. Hotel is right on the main street running through Wareham so expect some noise - not sure how the "boy racers" get away...

We had a very pleasant stay here for a couple of nights as a base for a walking weekend in Dorset. No complaints at all. Very friendly staff and great customer service. The room was pleasant and had everything we needed. Good breakfast both days - very generous portions. We stayed for dinner on the first night - the servings...

The Red Lion in Wareham. We had originally been going to pre book for two nights, as we were coming away for a few days of calm following our wedding. We decided to chance it & came down without booking. On arrival after a two hour drive we arrived, we spoke to a nice friendly chap at the bar &...

We stayed at the Red Lion for 2 nights in March. Our room was spacious and clean and the huge bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was included and we were not disappointed. We chose to have the full English and it was cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and, although the bar area was quiet, it's a nice...

The Red Lion is situated right in the middle of Wareham. You can easily walk to all of the town from here and. It's an old pub but very comfortable. The room we stayed in was huge. It had a comfortable double and single bed. Small TV. Coffee, tea & bottled water. Good real ale and reasonable dinner menu. Parking...

Booked for two nights. Arrived a little early but room was ready and staff very helpful. Excellent location for a gentle walk around the town or as a base for other activities. We had bikes and cycled down to the nature reserve at Arne and on to Corfe Castle, along the coast and back, a good central position for many...

This is a review of the restaurant only. this is an old coaching inn, in need of some TLC. The staff are very kind and welcoming, but the food was plentiful but disappointing. I had the lunchtime Sunday roast beef. The beef was very challenging needed a steak knife to cut it, it was very overcooked the Yorkshire pudding was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Red Lion, after years of neglect, has undergone a refurbishment totaling around half a million pounds. The Red Lion now boasts 8 individually designed bedrooms, all of which are en-suite and some are suites. We have a formal restaurant, a relaxed snug dining area and comfortable bar with a great selection of lagers, ales, wines, premium spirits and champagnes. We are situated on the town cross in the centre of Wareham, the gateway to the Jurassic coast. Wareham is beautifully placed to tour the South coast. NB Please disregard any comments pre-July 2011 as they relate to previous operators. ... more   less
