We are Pig lovers, having stayed at the new forest, Bath and Devon properties. We chose Studland for our special anniversary as not been there before. On arrival our room was ready early and we sat on the outside terrace and enjoyed a pizza from the wood fired oven taking in the amazing views. Everything about our stay has been great; the food and the staff being the outstanding elements of our experience. However, I’m afraid I couldn’t give five stars due to our room. Although the bed was the usual amazing comfortable experience, the cleanliness left a bit to be desired. Also having only a waterfall shower without a separate hand shower was disappointing. The room had lots of cobwebs and someone really needs to use better cleaning products in the shower as there’s a build up of mould. There were also no slippers in the room but h/k delivered as soon as I requested them. As the staff were aware it was our anniversary there were a few nice touches such as note in our room, complimentary piggie bits and fizz. We had amazing massages in the treatment huts and overall left feeling very relaxed and happy.

Room Tip: Arriving on a Sunday meant parking was not great as so many non-resident diners meant car park...

Enjoyed a delicious lunch here. We shared crispy pork with plum sauce. Then we had our own starters (I opted for pastrami with celeriac slaw. My wife a beetroot dish. We both had quail for main. Then I had blackcurrant cheesecake (delicious, super sharp black currants and light as a feather cheesecake.) My wife had apple and blackberry crumble "with Bird's custard" Overall very good. But some niggles Only one disabled parking spot. It was partly occupied by a Tesla and we needed to move the carts staff use to transport guests luggage. Birds custard? Really? I can make it at home. Service was leisurely. No problem with that. But having been given the dessert menu we waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken. Staff friendly though. Also when our original order was taken we weren't asked if we wanted any vegetables. Yes I know it was on the menu but a prompt would have been appreciated with hindsight. Overall though a lovely place and meal

We have visited all of the pig hotels and always had a wonderful time. I was nervous this time having read the reviews from last month saying the service was terrible. I can hand on heart tell you that we had fantastic service both in the bar and the restaurant. Simply couldnt fault the staff all over the hotel. There is a special kind of magic at the pig hotels and that's thanks to the fabulous staff.

We always visit the Pig when we’re here in Swanage, unfortunately our evening was far from expected. We arrived for our table booking at 6.00pm and we’re immediately seated at our table in the Conservatory. There were not issues with the meal itself which was very tasty although quite pricy. But the issues began with aperitifs late delivery which came with the delivery of the starters. Then our wine order - the Sommelier came to the table and immediately poured our wine with a very curt introduction although we already had drinks on the very very full table. No one cleared our table of used dishes I cleared some of the items onto a side table to make space for us, we had to ask for water refill a couple of times. Our mains came straight after the starters were cleared. Even by this time the Restaurant was not busy and it didn’t seem that they were lacking staff, they just required some training and a better attitude. We decided to give desert a miss and retire the lounge have a nightcap then pay our bill and go. We were shown to a lovely lounge area but then just left for a very very long period not asked for a drinks order, so asked them to call a taxi. The bill wasn’t forthcoming after several requests so we went and asked for the bill yet again and for the service to be removed as it was not justified. It was really disappointing as we’ve been there so many times but will think hard before we go again and check the reviews as it appears we are not alone.
