I stayed here one night on a business trip and it was just fine. This is straight forward accommodation. There was a friendly greeting at reception. The room was clean, the bed comfy, the shower hot. A big thumbs up for having mugs on the tea tray so I could have a proper sized brew. Nice veggie breakfast too.

Trust me when I tell you all the awful reviews of this hostel are spot on. I am not going to labour the issues we experienced as they are in all the other reviews. DO NOT STAY HERE, it stinks and the breakfast should come with a health warning.

Very shabby. No hot water on the 2nd morning. Breakfast was awful. Asked for scrambled eggs and they said they didn't have any didn't see any cereal.the room was dirty we asked them to clean the hairs out of the sink. There was poo up the sides of the toilet.we would not stay there again

Grotty, no hot water in the morning. No drying facilities as advertised (had sailing gear to dry). Fire doors on the corridor banged all night in the wind. Would have been better to save the money and sleep in the car!

Well where do I start? From the outside I thought we were renting by the hour. Entered the building and the smell hit us....a mix of stale wee, boiled cabbage and unwashed bedding. After a trek along narrow corridors and up some stairs we found our rooms. Opened the door OMG....a leap back in time......I had arrived in a parody...

Basic accommodation but clean with friendly staff. Sadly for the price we paid we would at least expect hot water. The wifi was a bit hit and miss and not reliable. Does have good views from the hill and peaceful location for a quiet nights sleep.

Where do I even begin..... We checked in on Monday night and we got told which room we were in so we made our way up the main stair well that has stains on the carpet and the ceiling. the ceiling also had missing ceiling tiles and had a musty and smokey smell about it We got into our room...

Pros: generally clean, comfy bed, friendly staff, free parking but limited Cons: WiFi not available in the room, No hot water, leaking dripping tap, numerous updates repairs needed. Only stayed for one night and didn't require more than a comfy bed and hot shower. 50% achieved but for the money would expect a higher level of accommodation.

If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. But if all you need is a clean, comfy bed for a night or two this place ticks those boxes. Sure, its a little tired and could do with a bit of sprucing up, but its not pretending to be anything too grand. Excellent value for money....
