2 couples in our 60s stayed 2 nights at this inn, which is attractive, rustic and run by a great team, cheerful, efficient and friendly. Good rooms with comfy beds and ensuites. Nice decor, clean and characterful. The only downside was that it was unusually warm weather and the windows were painted shut. The breakfasts were delicious - really good...

The Ship Inn own website says it all. An excellent place to stay and eat A good centre, good staff , an owner(Gavin) who runs the show and sees to your requirements, top class breakfast, well kept ales, good rooms with character as befits a place going back about 250 years and a good and varied menu. Justifies its place...

This quite local to us and we go to the Ship for a treat. The food is excellent and the hospitality is first class. We cannot comment as we have never stayed there only been to their restaurant. Would recommend.

Had an unplanned last minute night away. Struck by the warmth of welcome and fab hospitality from all staff members, delicious menu, local beers and cider at the bar (which also has a gin menu). A good night with plenty of hot water for the bath, and super breakfast too.

I loved this spacious and well planned pub/restaurant. There was a very good and easily understood menu and daily specials board. And additional out side covered non smoking dining area. Full marks from me. Alan Watkins Sponsored walker covering 3000 miles.

I stayed at the Ship Inn for just one night prior to a midweek meeting nearby. The hotel and restaurant oozes character and the management and staff could not be more helpful. If you are looking for a large, modern and pristine hotel then the Ship Inn isn't for you. However, if you want a warm, friendly, traditional place to...

This is the best pub in Dorset if you like great food and great choices, local produce and the prices are good, lovely choices of wines and beers, very clean and all the staff are friendly and well trained. Great for a special meal or popping in for a pub lunch.

We visited here (for the first time) for Sunday lunch. There is limited parking outside the pub, with the main car parking across the road - The speed limit is 30mph, but when leaving the pub, a car came around the corner as we were crossing the road and was clearly exceeding this! The pub is a lovely old building...
