Just spent a couple of nights in this wonderful pub. We were looked after by the terrific hosts who provided a 5 star service. The pub is friendly and welcoming with a fabulous bar and menu. We can definitely recommend the fish and chips! The location is perfect for a short getaway. We were lucky to experience both dramatic and stormy seas and also some fabulous late summer sunshine - great for stomping on the beach and climbing the odd hill or two! Thank you to our hosts for such a special stay. We can’t wait to come back!

We spent 5 nights in the Golden Cap room. There are 3 rooms, all overlooking the bay. We have stayed in all of them and the views are superb. They don't take bookings for tables but make an exception for residents. It was very busy most evenings but this did not frustrate the well organised team from providing first class service, always with a smile. They certainly make you feel special and privileged as a resident. The food is very good, although the menu could be a touch more extensive, especially if you don't eat fish. This was our third visit and we shall certainly be back. Thanks to Matt and his very capable team.

Beautiful little spot, overlooking the sea. Queued for about 10/15 mins as there is no booking system. Really attentive but laidback server (Dom). And the best fish & chips I’ve ever had! A gem of a place.

Aside from the great food, drink and insane location the staff were absolutely brilliant. The beach was packed all bank holiday weekend which meant the pub was up against it. The staff though were extremely honest about the situation and then very patient and friendly and gave amazing service. Thanks to you all at the Anchor

There are pubs with great beer, pubs with great food, pubs in a perfect location and pubs with fast attentive and gentle service. Very occasionally you find one with it all and The Anchor is such a pub. We had amazing food, beer that quenched a mean thirst, all served within 15 minutes of sitting down. The garden looks out over the beach and you can wonder how any of the cliffs stay up, whilst looking at the ones which have fallen down. Highly recommended- just go!
