Once again we have had a great lunch here. Fantastic food again, innovative menu (wonderful spicy chick pea dish with an egg on it). Really good and speedy service despite our late arrival time. And superb views from the terrace on a sunny day. .......

If you fancy a drive out from Bridport, around 4 miles, you will be well rewarded with a delightful pub and excellent food. The owners ran a restaurant in France for 10 years and the meals certainly reflect that. From Dorset snails and beef and Guinness pie to Delicious Hake and chips, everything was fresh and well cooked by the...

Had a wonderful three course dinner here at the weekend. Choice of wines a bit limited but the menu was delicious - Gruyere and sage soufflé awfully good as were the local snails. Chicken succulent and am still dreaming of the pud! A good well thought out menu, great service and lovely atmosphere. Have stayed here a few years ago...

To show a stranger the quiet lanes of Dorset and to experience the hilly and narrow lanes of south Dorset, then drive or cycle from Bridport to Loders and on to the hamlet of Powerstock. This is not Hardy country but you sense the Hardy-ness of Dorset in these hills and lanes. You can continue through the village to the...

Beer terrace with a delightful view. Good beer selection; Tried a light lunch, but the aussie - east euro staff combination were not out to help when asked for a small portion. No other customers at this time. My food was tasty and fine. Would stop again.

We happened upon this pub when we came up for air at the Powerstock Cider Festival (a hoot) and decided to return for a weekend. It's a lovely country pub with very friendly staff, the roomy room had a big comfy bed, and picture postcard views. The delicious breakfast hit the spot. We didn't eat there in the evening and...

Meal was adequate although although neither my wife or I felt particularly welcome. We both had the 'special' pie which was ok but the portion of vegetables was rather pathetic. Interesting special offer that claims meal + pint, although what they mean is meal + drink per individual; if you try to have a second pint because your pregnant wife...

Thank you for your reveiw. When you ordered the two pies, which included a free pint you ordered a pint of beer and pint of coke, which represented your two free drinks. You then ordered another pint of beer which we charged you for. I am sorry if you expected it for free. Being rude to my staff was no...

I see from a previous review that this pub changed hands in January 2015. This may have some bearing on my opinion of the place following a recent visit. During my last visit here in the 90s I had a lovely meal which finished with a delicious dessert of a soufflé with prunes. So, as I was in the area...

Went for lunch yesterday on our return from a few days away, had ploughmans and egg mayonnaise sandwiches with arrived with chips Ploughmans arrived on a breadboard with a good flavored cheese, 4 pieces of granary and white bread with onion pickle, meats. That was so big we could have shared it. Stayed longer than we had planned as it was...
