This is a wonderful place to stay. From the moment of entry until our departure everything, the room, the bed, the food, was perfect. Management and staff were so warm and welcoming. My dog was a happy guest too. They set up our table in the delightful warm conservatory so that my dog would not disturb other diners. So very... More

We dined here on a Saturday evening in November with family for an anniversary. The food was absolutely delicious, I had shallot tart and chicken breast and my husband had duck to start and ribeye steak cooked perfectly. The restaurant service was brilliant, Manager Harry seemed in calm control on a night where we could tell it was incredibly busy... More

Arrived here in pouring rain after a really rough drive up from Cornwall but "Harry The Man" helped us unload, getting soaking wet in the process. We had a fabulous warm and cosy room (upgraded) with Jacuzzi bath. Everything was just perfect. We enjoyed a late light lunch in the lounge with glowing fire - just what we needed. Dinner... More

Arrived during Storm Angus, no problem, we were early but Claire ensured the room was available. The room was great, no bath if required but fine for us. Spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean (thank you to person responsible). Met Harry who frankly ensured our visit was to be memorable because nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was excellent, great table,... More

Stayed for a weekend to celebrate my wife's birtday. First impressions are good. We were shown to a ground floor double room in the main building, just through the doors from the kitchens. Nice room. Lots of noise from the room immediately above, you could hear all conversations and every footstep. As others have mentioned the car park is small.... More

Dear kwb4455, Thank you for your feedback and I'm sorry you did not enjoy your food. Glad you liked the room, though. I apologise for noisy guests above. I accept our car park is small. But you did actually have a space to park. There is also on-street parking opposite the hotel. I will obviously take up the breakfast service... More

Came to have tea with family and had lovely service. The Lady who served us was from New Zealand and was very friendly. The great thing about this hotel is that it allowed dogs to come in too which seems to be a rarity in these lovely smaller hotels. For four people to have tea the total was £12.00 so... More

Fantastic hotel and restaurant. Stayed here for a weekend over Bonfire Night. Staff were attentive, pleasant and very welcoming. Lovely sitting room with open fire to relax and while away the time with a good book. Food and service in the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was fabulous with a great choice of traditional fare. The room was cosy and well... More

Really pleasant, cosy hotel. Loved the open fire and comfortable room. Food good. Generally exceeded my expectation. Service at breakfast was a little slow so we did give some feedback when we checked out. Later in the day we received a telephone message from the Manager to apologise and explain why. Good customer service I thought and we appreciated the... More

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we checked and, without exception, the staff were attentive and made time to chat. We had a comfortable room with four-poster bed and a very comfortable mattress so we enjoyed a good night's sleep helped, in part, by our visits to the bar! We thought the food, which uses locally-sourced ingredients... More
