A friend and I came down for a 'long weekend' visit mid-week to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Perfect location! Couldn't ask for anything better and closer to the beach/sea. 1 minute walk down the steps onto the beach and a 5 minute walk into the shops in Woolacombe. Our room was slightly cheaper due...

Dear ABR28, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. Please accept my apologies for the reaction of my colleague with regards to the collision and the fact that you had to pour your own wine and water. We do try to maintain a very high standard of service in the restaurant. Overall, I'm pleased to read...

What a beautiful location for a honeymoon. Wonderful views and a beach just down the steps. A lovely room looking over the sea, just fantastic. On top of this the whole dining experience was an absolute joy, both at dinner and breakfast . A short walk takes you to Woolacoombe. Can't wait for our next trip. Thank you.

Undoubtedly the views and location of this hotel are first class for Woolacombe. And for that it charges a premium and comes close to offering a service to match but it cannot match a top end modern hotel as it is hampered by older rooms despite the refurbishment, and service which is adequate but not quite 100% welcoming. The evening...

Dear Matt B, Thank you for your review following your stay. All of our rooms are subject to refurbishment and improvement on an annual basis or more so when the time is available and are all up to an extremely high standard of both décor and furnishings. I'm sorry to read that your dining experience wasn't up to your expectations....

A weekend to get away from life's stresses, has to be booked in advance, particularly if you want a balcony. The location is beautiful. Picturesque and dramatic placed at one end of Woolacombe beach. The hotel is really homely, the staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble but they know how to relax you and just slow your pace....

We are local and thought we would sample the Bistro for Sunday lunch. Lovely views and quite nicely appointed, but customer service not good and food average and you get stung on wine prices. Had made a booking, but it didnt seem to have been registered and our waitress, I think her name was Brigitta really didnt seem interested or very...

As soon as you drive in, and see the cars in the car park (Lamborghini, Morgan Plus 8, lots of mercs, various so called chelsea tractors etc) this hotel exudes quality. We booked in for 5 nights dinner B&B basis, but this is flexible, and if you choose not to dine in the main fine dining restaurant, there is an...

Very relaxing enjoyable break. Reception was very welcoming and all staff were extremely helpful. Food in the restaurant was of a high standard, although the menu was repetitive. Views over the beach and sea were great, and if you enjoy walking, the coastal path is right on hand.

The only problems we found was for the sort of money we spent, slippers would have been good. Also flannels in the bathroom. Positives were the main restaurant and the fantastic staff. Would definitely go back.

Dear linnp39, Thank you for your review. We don't provide flannels in the bathroom as we feel it is a personal item for guests to bring and use. We are looking into slippers for the rooms. We hope to welcome you back in the future.

We recently stayed 2 nights at Watersmeet. The only room available was 14 (classic with limlted sea view) which we didnt mind as we have enjoyed the views many times on previous stays.
