Having finally found the correct, very narrow and unmarked, track (after turning round in the forecourt of a bungalow first - not the fault of the excellent directions but of a tired driver trying to navigate in the dark and pouring rain) we arrived to a very kind and pleasant welcome, complete with umbrella. Our room was extremely comfortable, very...

A lovely B&B! We received a very warm welcome from the hosts of Howden House, and made to feel at home instantly. Our room was clean and very comfortable, with lovely views over the valley. We enjoyed a good full English breakfast with good quality ingredients. Wish we could have stayed for longer!

Lovely hosts. Very friendly and welcoming. Our twin bed room was very homely and had a beautiful view from the window. Lovely quiet location. 20 min walk into the town which required a taxi back in the dark (under £5.00) Good choice for breakfast and was very tasty. Eaten at a shared table with other guests which may not be...

Hands down the best B&B I've ever stayed at - Louise was so helpful - she went beyond the call of duty on several occasions and our room was beautiful, clean and so peaceful. Can't recommend more! We were cycling Land's End to John O'Groats in torrential rain and Louise kindly dried out all of our kit for us.

This really is a lovely B&B. My husband and I stayed here for family reasons but have already decided to return for a holiday. The B&B is in a good location, it is easy to get to and you are also sent excellent travel directions when you book. Hosts, Martin and Louise make you feel very welcome. The B&B is...

I stayed at the Howden bed and breakfast for one night with my boyfriend. We were delighted with our stay. Martin and Louise are great hosts and very welcoming. Our bedroom had fantastic views over the fields and the house is set in a beautiful area. Local amenities and pubs just a ten minute walk up the road. Rooms and...

Louise and Martin made us feel very welcome and were pleasant and helpful throughout our 3 night break. The unnamed road up to the property can be easily passed but the Sat nav made it easy to find. The twin bedded room overlooked the Exe valley and mature garden. Everything was very clean . The beds were very comfortable and...

I stayed here for one night recently but would quite happily have stayed for far longer. This is the perfect b&b. Beautiful, peaceful setting, very comfortable bed/bedding, spotlessly clean and homely (in a good way). Well stocked comfort tray, including the owner's homemade cookies, ample supply of toiletries, fluffy white towels and such a glorious view. The owners/hosts, Louise and...
