Stayed here while on business for a night and wasn't disappointed. Beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean, friendly, helpful staff, old world decor but still fresh. Really is ran very well. The only criticism I'd have is the food was average from the evening menu. Breakfast was great, good quality and very tasty.

My husband and I paid a second visit to this hotel for two nights, one night included the tasting menu. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We'd requested a room at the back of the hotel and that is what we got, quiet and a view of the garden. The breakfast is delicious, hot food is cooked to order....

We stop here regularly on our way to our holiday cottage in Cornwall. The food in the bar is delicious with quick service, from internationally trained staff. This time we were held up in a traffic jam and arrived well after 21.00, when we asked if we were too late for food we were told there was no rush and...

Stayed here for 2 nights on a Travel zoo deal. Extremely good value for money. Excellent reception and restaurant staff. Bedroom smallish but nicely fitted out. Bathroom looking a bit tired as was the hotel's main lounge. Other public areas looked to have been freshly decorated. Food and wine both excellent. We had the tasting menu the first night with...

My hubby and me (along with our westie) stopped for lunch at the Arundell Arms on our way to Cornwall. What a beautiful hotel with a lovely garden. As for the food, we were over the moon to finally find a good place to stop en route to Cornwall. We have tried many places before and have been disappointed. My...

Dear issybeth, Thank you for your review. It really says everything that we are trying to achieve. Great welcome, food and service in an historic building in a thriving village and dog friendly too. The steak sandwich has long been a favorite with our regular guests and all of our chips are hand cut and cooked to order. I hope...

I am sorry for the rather weak title but it is how we felt on leaving after a weekend stay. Lovely location, very nice hotel, easy parking, very friendly reception staff on check in. The receptionist went out of her way to locate me some feather pillows for my bed as I just can't manage to sleep on those high...

2 night stay and we thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. The breakfast is excellent, the reception staff are very helpful. Only 2 minor niggles, wifi was down most of our stay which was essential for us as we have a business to run but hey ho these things happen, and in room 7 there is no net curtain or blind but...

Dear Hoppo74, Thanks for your review. I am sorry that the WiFi didn't work as it should during your visit. I know how important it is and we have 3 broadband lines and 14 routers around the hotel to try and ensure a good signal throughout the building. Unfortunately there was a cabling fault during your visit that stopped the...

5 course taster menu with a flight of wines, food was very good, only the creme brûlée let it down, the restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel is pretty with s lovely hidden garden. Our room was a good size and had an air of shabby chic about it. Really couldn't fault this experience over all and would...

5-6/12/15 Perfect sporting hotel for shooting or fishing – or just visiting the beautiful area. Everything works – as it did when I stayed there the previous year. Excellent restaurant, food and wine list. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Clean, well presented, decoration kept up to date.

Dear Joannaandmatthew, Thanks for your kind review, I am pleased you noticed the ongoing investment in the fabric of the hotel. The carpets had been replaced and hallways redecorated since you were last here. And although I may be biased, I agree that the local area is beautiful! Adam
