My wife and I have just spent a couple of very enjoyable days staying in Slapton at the Tower inn. The Inn is tucked away close to the village church and is very easy to find. If you own a large car you'd be advised to drop your bags off and park in the park and walk which is only... More

We were just wandering through and found this pub tucked away in a corner. This most striking feature was the genuine helpfulness and pleasant attitude of the staff. We were not planning to eat but decided to have the fish of the day with vegetables. Not cheap but worth every penny, superb flavour perfectly cooked. The choice of beers and... More

Camping just along the way on the outskirts of Slapton village & saw the Beer Festival sign! Sunny day, beautiful old unspoilt pub, good background music, Pimms, Cider, hay bales in the cobbled yard & bunting galore! Fabulous. So fabulous we stayed until 6 (dogs very welcome too), chatted to some strangers, booked dinner, popped back to freshen up &... More

We took some French friends here as we wanted them to experience a real olde worlds pub. This place really delivered. The narrow entrance started things off - Jean-Pierre guiding me through with about an inch to spare either side. The atmosphere at this pub is great and the staff are super-friendly. The food was tasty and served nicely and... More

We stopped here 3/4 of the way through a long walk in Devon. The location is spectacular, and the history of the Tower fascinating, but best of all was the great lunch-sandwiches of thick slabs of delicious bread, chutney, cheese and country ham. Perfect spot to refresh on a long hike

Wonderful location in a beautiful part of Devon. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The food was superb. We had to leave early on our last day so couldn't make breakfast but we were provided with breakfast in our room! Would highly recommend the Tower Inn and we'll certainly be back!

Overnight stay and meal. Lovely meal, faultless food. Shared lobster and crab fricasse and salt beef salad then rare steak and breast of lamb. All delightful, perfect for the occasion and setting. Pub was warm, bustling, friendly, cosy and all you could want from a traditional Devon pub with great food. Will return for sure.

Stayed here overnight once before and remembered the room was on the small side but the food was delicious so planned another one-night stay. Happened to be allocated the same room with the pub now advertising that it has been revamped. Revamped seems to mean they have painted the room and added an over-sized, completely surplus to requirements chair, where... More

A perfect cosy pub serving delicious food. Worth the drive, but be sure to park down in the village as impossible to find a space close by. Superb roast pork with mouth watering veg. Just check they remember to bring them as they forgot ours!
