Country pub in the centre of this pretty village. Ideal for walking and visiting nearby National Trust properties. All the staff were extremely helpful and they and the locals made us feel very welcome. The pub is also the centre of village life as it houses the shop and Post Office. A short walk to the passenger ferry then on...

My partner and I (and our dog) had a great time here. The village was very pretty and perfectly located for the places we wanted to visit (although do follow the hosts website 'how to get here' directions and not GPS as the latter takes you on a very narrow lane long way round surprisingly). The Red Lion Inn is...

The Red Lion Inn is a centre of community life in Dittisham, serving as a pub, restaurant, post office, grocery and a bnb establishment. The rooms are rather charming but many are already occupied by long-term residents. Still, there are one or two that provides a magnificent view of the River Dart. Mine looked out into the street below and...

Dittisham is a tiny village on the Dart estuary, some five miles by ferry upriver from Dartmouth. The inn is clean and cosy, selling an excellent selection of cask ales and cider. The Red Lion Inn also doubles as a Post Office and village store, which is handy. Accommodation is available and the menu, although limited, is good. Very friendly...

The Red Lion is a very unconventional pub and B&B but we enjoyed the quirky atmosphere. The rooms we stayed in were quiet, clean, large, well-equipped and had wonderful views of the River Dart. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ate an evening meal in the pub and all the dishes were very good with a big choice...

My partner and I stayed here again for a few days at the beginning of September and had a lovely time. The room (room 1) was great, with a fabulous view of the river, huge bathroom with an excellent shower and corner bath, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty. We have been coming to Dittisham for...

This is a quirky village pub (not a hotel) that does B&B which also contains the village shop and village post office. So you can sit, drink, eat and do your shopping at the same time. The staff and owners are very helpful and friendly. It's also dog friendly. The food is all excellent home cooked. Ignore the negative reviews...

This little pub (free house) does it all. Part grocery, part post office, part ATM, part breakfast lunch and dinner resturant, and a local / tourist pub hangout is the grand central station of Dittisham. The breakfast sandwich was fantastic. The cleanliness will turn most people off before they even sit down.

Although there is no doubt the pub décor is tired, the Red Lion is more a community hub than pub. You can walk in (with dog) order a breakfast roll, buy your paper and food from the shop, pick up a crabbing line, complete your admin at the post office and then stroll down the hill to the delights of...

Just don't go here please.... Doesn't open until 9 am (why ?) it's a pub/post office/general store - I think ?! A complete mess inside and out - walk past quickly and go to the FBI or Anchorstone Cafe which are both EXCELLENT just down the hill on the river. Seriously very strange....Could be Royston Vasey....
