We popped in here for a drink and a meal on Good Friday. Surprisingly the place was not fully booked and afterwards I understood why. The food was poor and served without any finesse. The omelette was flat and lifeless and this is the first time that I have been served a pie in a dish on a cold plate...

A great place to stay. This visit was our second, and again we were not disappointed. We arrived early afternoon and had our pick of camping pitches which was brilliant. After tent pitching we made the most of the weather, played games and had a superb time. In the evenings we visited the bar for drinks and eats. Great food...

This is a great place to stop for lunch whatever the time as the kitchen is open all day. It is on the main road and has easy access to Dartmoor for walkers and cyclists alike and also is next to a useful bus stop. The snack menu is extensive serving good filling pub grub as well as having a...

We stayed two nights and walked around Medford Reservoir on the Friday, Managed to climb 7 Tors including High Wilhays on the Saturday and...

My friends and I visit this pub at lunchtimes and evenings, always a warm welcome. A roaring fire in the winter and on rainy Dartmoor afternoons. The menu is extensive and cooked at the premises. The chips are fantastic hand cut and tasty. The whole pub, kitchen area and toilets are pristine. The Parking is spacious but not outlined so does get...

This place is excellent for what we want...if like us you want a great local pub with friendly people who can't do enough to help you, good food and beer, a place you can walk out onto Dartmoor without seeing a road, a place that loves dogs, and with no frills camping - water/waste/electric hook ups...look no further...love this place...

Was on way home from Tavistock and the place caught my eye. Stopped and had tea. Was well presented and delicious. Priced reasonably too. Nice open fire. Had a game of pool too. Table was in poor condition though.

Pub number 34 as we work our way round all the pubs on Dartmoor. I have been here before after a long walk on the moor a few years ago, and I was keen to return. We were greeted with a warm welcome from a man who clearly enjoys his job, which contributed greatly towards the lovely atmosphere here. The...
