The bar is alright with a few real ales kept .The evening meals were of reasonable quality and price .The room was very good with nice comfortable beds a decent sized bathroom with a really good powerful shower .Breakfast could be better although it wasn't bad ,the toasters were very slow and there wasn't any white bread .All in all...

Thank you for your review. Not sure why there was a white bread shortage. Our staff would have only been too happy to top the basket up. There are two toasters, one is slower and one is brand new. Hope to see you again.

We were looking for a place on the eastern side of Dartmoor. Based on Tripadvisor reviews, we picked the Cromwell Arms and were happy that we did. Room 9 on the top floor is advertised as not recommended for the elderly. At 77, I don't consider myself too elderly, and we wanted the kingsized bed so that was our choice....

Had a very uncomfortable night due to a very narrow 4'6" bouncy bed, room very small and no room in shower room to put out our toiletries, really difficult when you wear contact lenses and have several bottles, containers and glasses to juggle with. This was a shame as last time we stayed in a top floor room which was...

JULIE R, Owner at Cromwell Arms, responded to this review Thank you for your review and am sorry that your stay wasn't as good as before. The room you chose is one of our standard rooms and the ones on the second floor have bigger beds and bigger bathrooms and are priced higher. Your point about more shelves will be...

Had a great time for a two night stay. The food was very good and plentiful, great breakfast. Staff very friendly and great selection of St Austell beers. Room was very accommodating as wife cannot manage stairs we had the ground floor room which was step free from the entrance to the room. Room clean and tidy. Some street noise...

This Pub offers an excellent location for exploring Dartmoor and provides comfortable accommodation with good food and secure parking. The rooms are clean and the breakfast choice, although limited in options, is well cooked and the Bar food is very good Great location for Dartmoor and walking from the Town itself

I've had the pleasure of staying at the Cromwell now on two separate occasions with my work colleagues and must say I highly recommend it here. The service, food, accommodation and all staff made myself and the lads stay very enjoyable and comfortable. We will be going back next month and look forward to it 👍

We stayed for one night on the Friday of August bank holiday having stayed in Tintagel and being en route to Torquay. The room was pleasant. However no proper hairdryer just one of those useless bathroom jobs. It was sweltering hot so we were grateful for the fan that we found in the cupboard. Staff were friendly. Nice pub garden....

Thank you for your review which we are surprised to hear. We provide fans as the rooms do let the sunshine in and can get hot, it is a 17th century building. We are not a hotel and we have time restrictions on bar service as otherwise other residents complain that we are too noisy - we can never win!...
