I was picking up my mother in law from here after a care committee meeting and decided to stay for lunch. The place was virtually deserted save for half a dozen or so couples having a coffee. On trying to order the staff had difficulty operating the till so even with just a handful of guests it was near impossible...

We spent two nights here and had a sea view room with a balcony. Unfortunately the weather spoilt our use of this facility, but did not spoil our short break. The room was spotless and comfortable, and we had the use of the hotel's pool. The food in the restaurant was good, with a wide choice, including locally caught fish....

We booked a meal for a party of 20 including 4 children and 2 babies to celebrate a 90th birthday. We were offered the use of a private room and were able to choose our own two course menu. The food was perfectly cooked and the portions were huge! All the staff were very friendly and helpful and ensured our...

It was nice to see that the bar/lounge has recently been refurbished - it was getting a bit shabby on our last visit. Room - with a sea view - a little small but adequate, nice shower, comfy bed, clean and presentable. Slight negative point - the sloping ceiling in the window area does mean 'watch your head'. Food really...

I booked in may 2016 to stay here with my partner as a belated xmas present for Jan 2017 so plenty of notice for the staff to inform me of the building/renovation work for the period of our stay. Sadly no call to inform us and to say disappointed is an understatement. Two of the 3 nights we stayed the...

We were recommended by someone who lives locally to visit here. How grateful we were for that. We sat on a beautiful sunny day and looked out to sea. The views from the terrace are to die for, over the whole of Tor Bay. We just had a coffee as it was mid morning but what a lovely way to...

Fantastic views of bay with cosy fire in the Bistro. Staff were very friendly and service good. Afternoon tea was a very reasonable price but with a little bit of tweaking would have been a little more sophisticated e.g. 2 types of chocolate cake - would have been good to have had variety, scones too big, crockery not bone china,...

We had an excellent meal seated by the window in the Bistro with superb views across Tor Bay. The service was friendly and attentive, the menu (particularly of fish options) was extensive and the food well presented. Hardly a criticism but the portions were huge!

Location absolutely beautiful. Most of the staff were friendly. We probably will not be staying again as not very dog friendly only dog tolerant. The food needs to be improved especially the restaurant food. Breakfast was particularly bad not freshly cooked cutting corners. I am hopeful this will be looked into as we have informed them as it is letting...
