Went to try it out. Only one other table of four on a Sunday at 6.30pm. The service was awful with mistake after mistake being made by a waitress who didn't seem to know the menu or wine list. She brought drinks that we hadn't ordered, didn't bring ones we had. Chips were raw not just undercooked sauce missed out when...

Great service from the lady at lunchtime but had to send my first coffee back as my milk floated in it. Chicken caesar salad with bacon needs improving with less dressing and fresher leaves. Kids sausage and mash did well for my 2 year old. Maybe some colouring pencils for kids would be a good idea.

I was used to eating in the George with the previous owners when English and thai food were served. Always fantastic food and good value for money. Went to the George with an open mind and was very disappointed. Wine was very expensive but the food was so disappointing. I hate salt on my food and yet the chef decided...

I took my mother to have lunch today at The George. I can simply state that without question the Roast Beef that both she and I enjoyed is possibly the best I have ever sampled in my life. I am accustomed to a high standard of dining however this was beyond exceptional. I must admit that I slightly hate the...

Lovely boss, lovely clean and well equipped room, lovely breakfast proper bacon and sausages. The location is ideal in centre of town, and we were able to park across the road ( 50 yards) FOC after checking in.

I'd initially intended to spend five nights here, but was made to feel so much at home that I extended my visit to seven nights. Modern bathrooms are spotless and well furnished. The location of the pub in the centre of the village is perfect for access to local restaurants and other facilities. You can also eat well at the...

After a windswept walk on Crow Point we needed to warm up and eat. The George was the perfect place to go. Good veggie options, very friendly staff, steak sandwich that was cooked beautifully (with blue cheese and a caramelised onion chutney) and so large I had to take half of it home. We liked the décor, and found the...

I booked a lunchtime meal for a friend and myself. We were having a day out shopping and fancied a treat. It was very easy to find, Staff very pleasent and helpful, the meal was delicious, we had a starter (duck), with a main course (Lamb shank). Credit to the chef.

Very clean nicely decorated bedroom with great power shower. Breakfast was ok. However food in the pub terrific! Parking involves getting a spot in the car park across the road and the pub provides a chit to say you are suthorised to use it. Very useful if you want to wander round the town.
