A very special place indeed. More of a guest house than a hotel run by beautiful, adorable German Petra and her talented chef husband Martyn, with extra customer service provided by their gorgeous lover-of-bacon black labrador Casper, who enchanted me so much, he's now my phone screensaver. Within walking distance of Agatha Christie's famous Burgh Island, what was a lovely...

We discovered the Henley 30 years ago and have returned numerous times. Martyn and Petra have maintained their unique, high standard of accommodation, cuisine and careful attention to detail over many years. Our visit is always the highlight of our year. The views from our favourite room, no.2 are spectacular, as are the garden views. Dining in the conservatory -...

We returned once again this year for our second visit to the Henley to accept Petra's hospitality and Martyn's great cooking. Everything about the place is first class - location, views, cleanliness, comfort, food, old worldly atmosphere - making it like a home from home. Our dog, Daisy, too enjoys her visits here. And in lighter evenings, looking from the...

All bedrooms have a wonderful view. Very well appointed room and bathroom. Martin & Petra provide the most delicious dinners as well as friendly and helpful local advice. Comfortable sitting room with numerous magazines and books. The path down to the beach direct from the hotel was a great bonus for us making it so easy to walk along the...

What a fabulous holiday we have just had at this hotel. Wonderful staff, fabulous food and a perfect home from home feel for both myself and my husband and our two cocker spaniels. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of travelling to Devon with dogs.

We stayed here with friends recently and have nothing but good things to say about this small & friendly hotel, from the friendly welcome, spotless rooms and exquisite food. Nothing was too much trouble and to top it all the weather was settled and warm for our entire stay. We have already booked provisionally for next year so Look forward...

Doesn't look terribly exciting from the outside but inside is one of the best small hotels we have ever stayed in at this level. Our corner room was spacious with good views either side overlooking the bay and Burg island. The bathroom was freshly decorated with a good sized bath and there was a tea tray with a teapot ,fresh milk etc....
