Had a lovely dinner here with friends. Wonderful pub atmosphere with truly excellent food. Menu had wonderful choices from which to choose. Staff was very friendly and attentive. An over all delightful evening. Did not stay at the hotel as I was staying with friends.

We stayed here at the end of a very wet day 1 of our latest section of walking the SWCP from Wembury to Brixham. The place looks to be in transition with lots of improvement work taking place. The bedroom was fine although it would benefit from some updating, but was comfortable enough. The bar/restaurant was very busy and clearly...

We had a lovely evening recently. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The mussels were to die for - large, tasty and well cooked. The fish and chips and fish goujons were also good and the wine was well chilled. I see the place is going to be refurbished which is does need. We always sit in the bar...

This inn has a varied menu and the food was good. The service is very friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. However the reason for my "lower than average" score is due to the lack of cleanliness. We sat in the bar area: the windowsills were disgustingly dirty and the white painted wooden seats/booths had not been...

Always like to visit The Sloop when down at Bantham. Sadly the fish pie today was mainly melted cheese and potato on top of very little fish with no flavour. Very disappointing. The main dining area is about to be refurbished and completed at the end of May. I look forward to that as it does need a facelift. The...

Brought here by friends on Sunday for a lovely roast. Service was quick, food was delicious and well portioned (I had roast beef with all the trimming, my husband had the fish pie and our friends both had roasts too - the sticky toffee pud and crumble were to die for too!) We also love being able to bring our...

Often visit the Sloop and take friends there. Service as always was really quick and the food was as tasty as ever. I had a roast and treated myself to a sticky toffee pudding which was heavenly. Looking forward to the refurbishment. Cheers

Really friendly folks. Tasty pub food and a good breakfast. Room-plenty of space and storage; comfy bed; clean and tidy; good shower; well-worn and probably needs decorating/a make-over. Good value though. 5 minutes from Bantham beach.

Arriving at the Sloop Inn is like arriving in a coastal haven. This part of the UK is stunning. But sadly that's where the highlights end for the Inn. The rooms are tired and dated and in need of at least a lick of paint. The pub is a lovely old-world drinkers' pub but sadly not great for food-lovers. It...

Good beer, excellent service, nice friendly people, quality food, nicely decorated. The only fault I think would be the uninviting beer garden. Not much can be done due to its position in the village. Can't have everything.
