When we arrived at the hotel we were warmly greeted showen to our room which was clean and welcoming. The staff were helpful booking taxis, hire car and providing information of boat trips and bus timetables anything we asked there was an answer and nothing seemed to much trouble for them. We live nearby and visit regularly for a drink and/or food. Great hosts and good beer. The food was previously average but is now good (although a little expensive). The real ales are well looked after and the bar generally has a proper "pub" feel for relaxed eating and chats with friends. Under the present owners Les Douvres has definitely...

We should have known as we checked in, from the parrot perched on his cage near the front desk, that Long John Silver might have stayed here and that nothing had changed since. The room was very small and musty. We opened the window for a good while resulting in a cold musty room. No amount of fresh air would...

Rui and Angelina who manage the hotel are a very friendly couple and really went out of their way to make sure we all had a super holiday. We were a large group of 35 so catering could have been difficult but we found the food excellent and the service delivered with a smile was very good. The hotel stands...

We arrived quite late one evening to the hotel as our ferry crossing had been delayed. We received a friendly welcome, which was indicative of the rest of our stay. The room was reasonably sized. A few of the fittings were a little dated, but everything was clean and maintained well during our stay. We didn't eat dinner at the...

Value for money was good at this hotel. Room's somewhat dated. Not so as to be a problem... I actually stayed twice in 2010 and will stay again this year. Lovely hosts. It's a friendly homely kind of hotel. Yep, says it all in that I'm going back really.

The trip to Guernsey was our 28th Wedding anniversary present to ourselves. We arrived at Les Douvres to be greeted by Rui and Angelina, they run a friendly and welcoming hotel. Them rooms are not ultra modern but in our opinion this makes the hotel more homely. Due to the snow this year we had to stay another four days,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Les Douvres Hotel, Guernsey is a former 18th century Manor House ideally situated in the quiet St Martins Parish, in the South East corner of the island, and referred to by many visitors as the most beautiful part of Guernsey. Les Douvres Hotel is set in its own Private Grounds and is an ideal position for exploring the magnificent Guernsey South Coast Bays and cliffs walks, with views extending as far as the nearby French Coast, with the Channel Islands of Herm, Jethou and Sark in the foreground.Saints Bay, with its tiny Fishing Harbour is close by and the main town and capital of St. Peter Port, Guernsey is within ten minutes drive by car (approximately 2.5. miles). An excellent bus service passes the Hotel at regular intervals. Children are most welcome and family rooms are available. Despite extensive building works and refurbishments the Hotel's"Olde Worlde" character has been carefully retained. We are now the first Hotel or Business in Guernsey to provide an electric charging port for cars. This facility is free for all hotel guests to use. ... more   less
