In serious need of a refit in the bathrooms, a lick of paint throughout, and a new chef. They use blankets from your grandmother's house and the room was musty and smelly. Food was even worse - foul tasting crab starter swimming in a soup of sweet chili sauce was inedible, bread was stale, and cheese board was from Tesco...

I stayed here for a weekend break - I thought it seemed like a romantic getaway, close to Dublin, yet in the countryside. Also the idea of an old coach-house with good food reviews seemed right up our alley. When we got here we had to wait for a few moments at reception as there is not someone on duty...

Food is average for the price, the apple crumble was very poor. I come here for lunch with family because they love the atmosphere. What spoils it for me every time is the awful service from one long standing staff member. She is rude, abrupt, unhelpful, looks like she doesn't want to be there and could not care less about...

Lunch in Hunters is a real treat. Old world athmosphere, garden view, tablecloth, silverware and very good food all for €20 for two courses - the experience is well worth it. Service is good and unrushed and there is a cosy bar/lounge to relax over coffee afterwards.

Hunters Hotel still retains the 'Irishness', yet treats customers in a special way. It is still run by the same family, now in it's fourth generation. If you need somewhere to escape, go here. Richard was very welcoming, as were Margaret and all the ladies waiting on us before lunch. Nicola was so friendly and we felt we had a...

Myself and two pals spent the weekend at Hunters on a 2 nights B&B and 1 dinner package. We knew it was going to be a quiet out of the way place but we didn't realise how quaint and historical it was and that the food and service would be soon good. When we drove i the gate into the...

This Hotel is in the Blue Book and this carries an expectation of excellence. However the reality is very different. Old coach house style hotel but crying out for an investment to bring the place up to the standard expected for the prices charged.I think one could say owners are relying on former glory days, but you can only" fool...

Hunters Hotel is a real find. Old-worldly, classy and cosy. Its beauty is in its authenticity. Its not for you if you like everything perfect in a boutique way. It has tonnes of genuine character. The food is nostalgic and BRILLIANT. Breakfast superb. My favourite Irish hotel.

Stayed in this charming inn recently for an anniversary treat. Drinks by the open fire before dinner followed by a delicious meal. Excellent service throughout. The bar and sitting room are mercifully free of television and piped music. Very comfortable bedroom and the hot water bottle and turn down service greatly appreciated. Breakfast was excellent the following morning. A real...
