The staff at Trooperstown Wood Lodge we very attentive, friendly and happy to stop and chat and help in every way. I initially booked to stay one night but that soon extended to three after we realised we had stumbled across a little gem. The rooms were clean and modern but it really is the staff that makes this place... More

Booked two nights after flight into Dublin. Erica, the manager was very solicitous, warm, and friendly. She phoned the associated Wicklow Heather to hold dinner for our 9 PM+ arrival. Shuttle taxi available for breakfast and dinner, free, to this restaurant. Great place to recover from jet lag. Easy commute to St Kevin's ruins. Multiple sitting rooms provided nice options... We have to mention Ericka the lovely lady in charge. She was so helpful, friendly, and wellcoming! It was a pleasure to meet her. She is excellant at what she does!. The lodge has a reading room which is nice and quiet and a sitting room at the rear of the house, tea and coffee making facilities are provided and biscuits.

Although the lodge sells itself with its elegance and stunningly beautiful location, it would just be that and nothing more if it were not for the lovely Erika!!!! She gives this place a heart, she lives on sight and works tirelessly to ensure that everything is absolutely perfect within the lodge itself and that each guest gets anything they need,... More

Heather Wicklow Restaurant offers variety for "Lodge" breakfast. Very welcoming, good food, and service was great for dinner also. Visit Glendalough, Wicklow Mtns and Glenmalure (Glen Road) for beautiful scenery.

Trooperstown Wood Lodge is just on the outskirts of Laragh, a 2 mile drive from Glendalough. We received a lovely warm welcome from the manager who is a lovely lady. The rooms were very clean and well equipped - we had the family room which in effect had two bedrooms along with the ensuite bathroom. There was a small fridge... More

This was a lovely place set on a manicured lawn. As the name indicates there is wood everywhere - beautifully crafted wooden doors in all the rooms. Sculptures made from wood. Very nice. Breakfasts are included at the Wicklow Heather Restaraunt just a short drive down the road from the lodge. A driver will take you there and bring you... More

This was our second stay at Trooperstown Wood Lodge. As with the first stay, the lodge was comfortable and clean, but the real highlight (and a big part of the reason for the comfort and cleanliness), is Erica. She truly is a marvel. I hope that the owners of the lodge fully appreciate how hard she works, and what she... More
