Absolutely amazing stay after deciding on a spontaneous night away from Dublin. Shane rang and checked on us before we got there and met us with tea and cake on arrival before running us through everything we needed to know about the area. Rooms were spotless and comfortable and the pub next door had great food and drink. The highlight...

The location and accommodation was terrific. Shane and Catriona were very helpful with what to see and places to eat. The cups of tea and homemade cakes were a delightful surprise at the end of a hard day of sightseeing. Ashton House is in a tranquil setting but within easy access to places like Glendalough, Mount Usher gardens and Wicklow...

Host Catriona and Shane genuinely made us feel very welcome and our stay very enjoyable and relaxing. We were greeted with tea and home made cake every evening and the breakfast was first class with homemade jams and sauces - with so many choices and so filling that we often skipped lunch. They gave us lots of suggestions of where...

This was our third stay at Ashton House and it's now become our tradition! We couldn't consider a trip to Ireland without visiting this excellent establishment. Catriona and Shane work hard to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable and always have suggestions of places to go and eat. You can forget about lunch, though after an excellent breakfast at Ashton!...

Fantastic spot, central for our tour of Avoca. Arrived to home cake, a lovely suprise. The house was beautiful and very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, more homemade cuisine, jam, and very tasty. If we are ever in the area we would definitely stay again.

Arrived to tea and homemade cake taken in the guest lounge. Most welcome after our long drive. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean with lovely views over the front lawn. The hosts are very helpful and attentive offering advice on the local area. The location is quiet and just a minute or two's walk from the most pleasant Meeting...

I picked this place because it was out in the country and on the river. Our room overlooked the water and we had a few pheasants wandering around to add to the scenery. The owners were both friendly and the breakfast was so nice with their mums homemade jam and bread. We were also served homemade cakes when we arrived....
