Stayed here with a large group, and was very impressed with the calmness, efficiency and the attitude of the staff. I made several changes to my booking in advance of my stay, and each was treated with the same swift care. We arrived early and our rooms were not ready, but the staff contacted us in the bar when they... More

I got a Groupon voucher for a night, including breakfast, dinner and leisure facilities. The hotel is beautiful and the staff was friendly during check in. Rooms are spacious and very clean. The highlight was the restaurant! The dinner was brilliantly presented and delicious and the breakfast was abundant! Only few minor things were a bit disappointing: we couldn't swin... More

Nice place - very comfortable, very convenient. Staff were excellent, friendly and mostly efficient (if a bit slow at checkout, but that can happen anywhere). Food was good and the wifi fast and easy. Had a room close to the main stairwell and it was a bit noisy. They still have big CRT TVs which seem old and outdated but... More

We stayed here for one night in a family room. The room was spotless and spacious, beds very comfy. I loved the lobby area, nice and cosy. The kids loved the pool. We didn't make use of the kids club but nice to have the option. Breakfast was great with a good selection, and the kids loved the pancake maker... More

Second floor restaurant where breakfast served .....walls had cobwebs. Think the owners need to revamp areas of the hotel. Leisure centre good but changing rooms freezing...

We decided on a whim to go to the Ashdown for lunch as we hadn't been back to this hotel for quite a while. Carvery was priced at €13.95 for a beef dinner, and there was fish and chicken on the menu, similarly priced. So far, so good. We went to the queue for the carvery and we were dismayed... More

Thomas K, It is interesting that you would bandy about the word 'dishonest' so easily without a any backup, solely based on your perception of the portion size - which is inaccurate. We have two size plates, a 1/2 portion on a smaller plate - by request - and a full portion on a full main course size plate. Obviously... More

We had a wonderful breakfast and the most attentive... More
