Detailed Reviews

The Walking Horse Lodge definitely likes horses. In the main area there is lots of horse memorabilia and artwork. Overall, the rooms are alright. Everything is pretty old, but it looked clean. It’s not too expensive, so if you’re not too picky about the age of amenities, you’ll be fine.

In a small town one does not find the range of hotel options as in larger cities. Walking Horse is the best choice in Lewisburg, although I would not call it a lodge. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the coffee is good.

I would give this hotel/lodge 3.5 stars if that were option. It is a decent place and the front desk clerk was very polite and friendly. I had limited options considering I was traveling with my dog and I saw this place on the internet and due to the location in Tennessee and reviews I booked it. The hotel is a ways off of I-65, but if you need place for the night this is a viable option. The room décor was dated and the bed was comfortable enough for a nights sleep. The room and bathroom were clean. The bathroom ceiling and vent fan were not in good shape though. The rate was affordable and appropriate. If you are traveling with a pet and in search of a reasonable rate, this is your stop.

Family stayed here one night and immediately checked out the next morning. Mold in bathrooms, cracked ceiling, beer stains all over floor, burn holes in blankets. Wish I got some pics. We stayed in room 122. The pool is definitely NOT open and is old and filled with green. The internet pics of this hotel are very deceiving. Do not stay here. It is absolutely terrible and they would not refund me either.

I was in town for two days for a funeral, the staff was so friendly when we came in and were continuously friendly the whole time I was there. The rooms were as clean as any placed that I have ever been. They were also very comfortable, especially the pillows. I just wished they had a hot breakfast. Over all I would give it 5 stars.

False advertisement for sure. There is a pool but it has been closed for 2 years. It says there is breakfast and there was not. There was a pot of lukewarm watered down coffee. Not enough towels for each person in the room. The rooms were extremely outdated. The paint on the bathroom walls were peeling. You are just kind of stuck as there is only one other hotel in the city and it is worse than this one. Stay with family if you can or rent a place.

While this lodging is about 8 miles off I65 it was clean, quiet, service beyond reproach and we could not have asked for better. Right next door to a Shoney's, off the road a nice distance made it quiet, and food easily accessable. While Lewisburg isnt exactly a bussling metropolis there are enough food eateries to make a 4 days stay not difficult. Mildred's and Shoneys within walking distance, Mopey's & Huddle House and fast food joints all within 1 mile. Since 31A is a major truck route one would think the noise level would be high ....Not so. garbage on Mondays was the only thing we heard....Very good low cost alternative, owners seem to be very willing to do anything they can to assist in any way they can. Having lived in the area for 16 yrs never staying @ the Walking Horse Lodge ...should we have a reason to resturn to the area we would be staying there again. Oh yeah their breakfast buffet is a true southern breakfast with lots to offer.

Our daughter just moved to Lewisburg with our grand kids. Small town so few options for hotel. We used the TripAdvisor rating and booked 3 nights. Upon entering room the scent of cleaning products or something was so strong that we bought some Febreeze to try to eliminate odor but no such luck. The vent in the bathroom was full of dust and dirt, the lightbulbs in the shower were dangerously exposed, the safety handle in the shower came undone and the towel rack broke. The walls were peeling and to say the least we were not satisfied. Today we checked out and am staying 23 miles away in a Hampton Inn for our last 2 days.

We, my wife, myself and the cat, stayed one night while road tripping. We were very pleased with the accommodation. This is an older motel of the "park your car in front of your room" style. The staff were friendly and helpful and the included hot breakfast wasn't even too bad.

When we stayed there we went out to dinner very nearby. I do not recall a restaurant.
