We had dinner with friends and looking forward to a special evening- Arrived and shown to our seats - handed menu at €65 for dinner- the menu lacked a little depth- no fowl what so ever - no steak and chick peas as a vegetable - there was rabbit cod and monkfish on menu- I did feel the menu was...

Dear Keyka, Thank you for your thoughtful and balanced comments on your experience at Ballynahinch. I am sorry that you found the menu a little lacking. We are striving to offer a more varied choice of all the excellent dishes that Connemara allows and to balance the choices across the 5 courses. Nonetheless we must consider the reliables, prime Irish...

We were travelling to Roundstone on a beautiful, sunny day and couldn't resist visiting Ballynahinch Castle to avail of their lunch menu. The staff were very pleasant and service was prompt. We enjoyed a very appetising lunch after which we went for a leisurely stroll around the scenic grounds. Hopefully we will enjoy a longer stay in this magical setting...

We stopped by here on Easter Sunday - we will be staying here this year and wanted to have a look. We had lunch in the bar hich was very crowded, there seemed to be tables and chairs put into any available space. The bar needs a major revamp. We were seated, a family of four and there was no...

Dear Ennis 41, Thank you for your comments on your recent visit for Lunch and I am sorry service was not what it should have been. As we add disabled access top the pub we have had the space available restricted, this combined with a busy Easter holiday weekend put the team under a bit of pressure. This is no...

Ballynahinch is a gorgeous quintessential Irish hotel. The hotel and the grounds were lovely and I definitely felt like I was being spoiled by staying here. The staff is helpful and courteous and I really have no complaints to make of the place. I stayed here with a friend for one night and we were under the impression that it...

I've stayed at this castle hotel twice, September 2009 and June 2013. Both times were excellent experiences. The breakfasts were excellent. Both the prepared food and the cold-cut and fruit selection were welcomed by my entire family. We didn't get to dine in the restaurant in the evening because of my picky eaters, but we did eat in the pub....

Set in the wilds of Connemara in a remote spot on the Ballynahinch River, Ballynahinch Castle is a world renown hotel and sporting estate. With a fabled history of illustrious owners including Grace O'Malley, pirate queen of Connaught and The Maharajah Ranjitsinghji, Ballynahinch is touted as Ireland's perfect spot for fly-fishing. We spent three nights there and used Ballynahinch as...

We study before we travel and map out spots to visit, historical sights to see, interesting assortment of places to stay and more. This spot caught our attention and from the entry gates in until the main entrance, we liked the venerable structure and its charm. We had a great lakeside large suite for the 3 of us with a...

Words just can't explain how much I loved my time at Ballynahinch. They made me (and from what I could tell, each and every guest) feel like a guest of honor. The rooms were beautiful, the dinner was amazing, and the grounds were stunning. We took time for a long walk through the grounds, and were amazed at the peaceful...
