This is our 7th visit to the Ballynahinch Castle. And it's getting better and better. Super service from all the staff, including Patrick O Flaherty, the General Manager. Every year, they are bringing something new which clearly demonstrates the willingness of the Ballynahinch to better serve their customers. We missed Jane this time, but we will come back.

We visited Ballynahinch for 3 nights in May. Our trip included a walk through the grounds with Noel and a session Skeet shooting with the colorful rifle instructor. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed taking walks through the grounds, enjoying the massive breakfast buffet and 4 course dinner that was out of this world!

My wife, sister and brother-in-law travelled to Ireland for 12 days. The castle was easy to find and just a 15 minute drive to Clifden. The staff, the rooms, the food and the walking trail made this day one of the highlights of our trip!

Beware. Most of the rooms in this hotel are not handicapped accessible. We were promised such a room and instead received one on a floor with no ellivator and which required climbing steep stairs. Extremely disappointing!

Dear Guest, I am so sorry you had issues with accessibility. It is a challenge in the old building. Over the past two years we have reconstructed a section of the building providing for ramped access to the hotel and also installed rest rooms with full wheelchair access. This year we reconstructed an entire corridor and installed an elevator to...

Have stayed in Ballynahinch in the past and hadn't been there for a while, we popped in recently for lunch. The menu was so-so, full of the usual, chowder and over priced sandwiches. We each had the chowder and to say it was underwhelming is an understatement. It consisted of a few pieces of fish, cheap salmon, a few diced...

My dear Dez, I was terribly upset to read of your poor experience on your recent visit to the pub for lunch. I am so very sorry that the experience you expected and the reputation we enjoy were not delivered. Our chowder is one of our signature dishes and we take great pride in it. I cannot imagine what happened...

My wife and I stayed in Room 18 from May 14 to May 18. Room 18 is on the top floor corner with views of two different angles of the river. The entire environment and setting is "fairy tale" and "story book like". My wife jokingly said the only thing missing was two white swans in the river ! The...

We had such a relaxed and enjoyable stay at Ballynahinch Castle-we just didn't want to leave! We arrived very early on our bikes, and the hotel made us welcome and comfortable while we waited for our room to be ready-and the room was worth the wait! Huge double shower, and equally fantastic closet for those of us who can't seem...

Hi Rebecca, It was wonderful to have you stay with us and thank you so much for the lovely review. The rain has come at last so we hope to see some salmon running the river now. Put your new found skills to the test when you next visit! Warm regards, Patrick

We booked in for 3 nights 10 days ago to Ballynahinch for our "mini-moon" having gotten married the Saturday before. We spent a lot of time looking for somewhere special as there are many fine hotels in the West of Ireland and we really wanted to treat ourselves after all the busy wedding preparations. Having read previous reviews we decided...

We were sight seeing in the area and it was suggested we visit Ballynahinch Castle Hotel. We had no idea what to expect so as we got near we realized why we were advised to visit the historic Castle/Hotel. The views are captivating, staff informative and friendly and if you're a fly fisherman, there's stories to learn and maybe on...
