Visited Innisbofin on 2nd August arrived to some sun shine and warm air. Walked to Doonmore X Hotel [even though there is a pickup at pier]. Hotel was lovely the welcoming feel. Our room was bright and very clean. Later that day we had a snack lunch which was very good. Had dinner there in evening and food was excellent....

The Doonmore hotel is genuinely authentic which only adds to the magic of Inishbofin. There's great food, especially the mussels. The staff are really lovely and helpful which makes a trip with kids easy.

I had an amazing experience on this island. The hotel staff did anything and everything for us. One of my favorite parts of my stay on the island was the hotel. They were AMAZING and so kind and helpful. The locals were very welcoming as well. I would love to come back again and again.

We stayed in the Doonmore Hotel towards the end of June and the experience couldn't have been better. We were made to feel welcome and right at home right on arrival, and both Andrew and Donna (and all the staff) are an absolute pleasure. The food was incredible (the crab and shellfish, AMAZING!), and the music put on for Friday...

Loved this place. The weather was beautiful while we were here so drinks were had outside overlooking the sea. Lovely location and a great atmosphere at night. I would highly recommend spending an evening in this spot if you're visiting the island.

Dear Finbarr Q, Thank you for your review. ' Loved this place.' kind of says it all really. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Murrays' Doonmore Hotel, the most westerly island hotel in Ireland, was built in 1969 and has been owned and managed by the Murray family ever since. We pride ourselves on our hands on approach to customer service so you will be dealing with a member of the family at most stages of your stay. We care about what we do because it is not just a job, it is our life. Our friendly staff are superbly trained and they know that our raison d'etre is to ensure that every customer, from a child ordering a hot chocolate to a group of adults staying for a week, deserves only the best service possible. Our hotel and bar food is famous for its freshly caught seafood and its consistently high quality and value for money. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and warm. The atmosphere is welcoming, homely and relaxed. It is no accident that we have a large percentage of repeat business stretching back to the early days. The proof of the pudding is in the eating (and we bake all our own!) So come out and visit and experience Murrays' Doonmore Hotel for yourselves. Andrew Murray ... more   less
