Although a little pricier than pub food this was a lovely restaurant with good food. Very comfortable seating and dark intimate atmosphere. Our roast dinner meals came with plenty of meat and vegetables. We did have to ask for extra gravy but this was provided. the vegetarian meal, mushrooms, was also good and a generous portion.

After driving around Malin Head we were hungry and decided on eating in the hotel. On entering we were told the menu was not available as "there was a funeral going on out the back", so we went to leave but were then told soup and sandwiches could be ordered. We decided that would be fine. After a short delay...

We were here a number of years ago and decided to return as it was a bit old fashioned in a quirky way. Good points- we got a good internet deal to stay and were given a warm welcome on arrival. Staff were very friendly throughout our stay and were helpful. Food in the restaurant was delicious and plentiful. Not...

We had a large room on the front with an enormous bathroom, which had a bath sitting in the middle. The room was beautiful with lots of old objects, books and furnishings. The food was average, as was breakfast. The staff were friendly, but clearly untrained, as my sherry was served in a water glass, the bottle of wine was...

Stayed three nites in the hotel recently, after a 2 night stay last year on business, and overall we really enjoyed the stay. Staff are very friendly, and we had lovely evening meals. The breakfasts were also excellent with the locally caught and smoked Kippers a real treat ! The rooms were also acceptable although with a bit of effort...

We stayed in this hotel as we'd been there years ago. We returned and were so disappointed. Staff are really friendly. However, the room didn't appear very clean. The bedlinen was dirty and looked like it hadn't been changed. The windows are filthy. I feel bad posting this review as the staff as I've already said were lovely. It's a...

My wife booked a day in the Malin as a surprise following our wedding a few days before. It has all the things to make it amazing but just missing a few touches. We got room 11 which is the bridal suite and lovely but just a few bits like a broken plug in sink, cobweb in bathroom, carpet catching...

Stayed for three nights at hotel Malin. Very clean hotel with rooms decorated in lovely bright colours in a french style. The food was good and breakfast was exceptional. The staff were extremely pleasant and friendly. Malin itself is a village with relatively little happening there. Not a place to go without transport.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Going through the door, you're greeted by the creme de la creme of local society. In the air, a distinct scent of haute cuisine and sensual traces of eau de cologne. Ah! C'est la vie in le Malin Hotel. Here we do things "la francaise" - food par excellence, rooms au courant. And a great pint, too! Boutique? We created the word! We're your little pied-de-terre and your "moulin rouge" in the midst of the beauty of Donegal. Boudoirs that'll knock your socks off, wine to blow your mind and scenery that'll make your eyes pop. Unique? You can say that again. ... more   less
