OK, it's expensive at about 100 euro for lunch for two with wine, but a fine setting, the best of locally sourced food, genially served, lawn with sculpture exhibition (Aug 2017), a craft shop so you can bring home some of the items.

East Cork where the hotel is situated is quite flat and there are some lovely "country roads" i.e. narrow and winding and can carry a reasonable amount of traffic. You would need to ride up and down such roads to get to the hotel.There are some beautiful places to visit. The main N25 to and from Cork and Waterford is busy, but wide,and there is a hard shoulder for quite a bit if it,so you can cycle with a degree of safety. As always,sensible safety precautions i.e. high viz,lights etc will always help......
