Stayed here with my husband for a two night break. Its located in a quiet village, with lovely scenery. The hotel is on the rivers edge. Spacious carpark. The lady at reception was very nice when checking in and out. The reception area is lovely with a big seating area. There is a lift, but the glass staircase is lovely....

Recently stayed in The Lord Bagenal and found it very comfortable and the staff extremely friendly. Unfortunately I felt the food in the restaurant was a huge let down. Everything on my plate tasted overly salted. The portions were quite small but the prices were huge. Extremely overpriced. Not worth what you pay for. In saying that the room was...

My wife and I stayed in the Lord Bagenal hotel for a two night break in September '15. We are both turning 40 this year so decided to do something special and we hoped Lord Bagenal hotel would be a fitting location to celebrate. We were not disappointed. I can honestly say that I have never stay in a nicer...

This hotel is off the beaten path in a very small village. There is not much to see here, but the hotel is quiet, romantic and offers some lovely views of the river. We were very surprised in the restaurant here by the brillant chef and the expertly prepared food! I had maple roasted quail with puy lentils and cranberry...

I ate here recently with friends and I have done so on a few occasions previously also. The menu has a lot of seafood choices , so much so, that it dominates most of the starter section of the menu! This is very off putting for those who do not eat seafood. The ceaser salad that I chose was ok,...

Whoever the chef is in this restaurant he should be ashamed of himself. Had dinner in the bar recently, I had the crispy duck with orange and ho sin sauce, the duck had obviously cooked previously and was reheated, it was dry and overdone. The ho sin sauce was, without doubt, one of the cheapest supermarket products I've ever tasted...

The sleepy village of Leighlinbridge is fantastic for pubs, walks and of course food, not what we were expecting at all. The Lord Bagenal Hotel is great, right on the riverbank, with lovely seating outside. The room was fabulous, fresh, airy, bathroom was spotless with a lovely big bath. And only 10 minutes away from Carlow with great shops. Would...
