What separates one hotel from another is the staff that works there. This staff takes ownership in their hotel and they know there are other places to stay in town. They make their patrons feel valued for choosing their location over other options and they take real ownership in their work. Even the housekeeping and maintenance staff spoke with me in passing and asked if everything was OK and if there was anything they could do for me. I don't even consider other locations when traveling through Johnson City now.

Spent the last cold and rainy weekend in Johnson City. The hotel is clean and comfortable. We used phone or keyless access to the room. We used the Hilton app to check in and out. We did not use the indoor or outdoor pool due to the weather. Not sure if either is heated. Rooms provide a deal, microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot with cups, coffee and tea. There is a television, an iron, and hairdryer.We did not eat at the restaurant one can take Hilton points or a credit instead. It was a nice visit.

Overall excellent. Everyone from the the front desk at arrival and departure to the servers in the restaurant fully met our criteria for excellence. Notably, prices at the "Burger Bar" restaurant were surprisingly reasonable and excellent in quality and taste especially for a hotel of this type.
The only downsides were minor. The room could stand some updates such as having a small couch for two instead of a chair for one, a comfort height toilet, better bathroom lighting and more outlets and USB ports. The restaurant had no "plain vinegar and oil" and I'm surprised as I can't imagine any restaurant that does not have ordinary white vinegar and olive or other oil in its inventory.
When compared to our last stay in Johnson City at the Marriott, I was far more pleased overall. I would not hesitate to stay there again even though my Gold Hilton status is not as "high" as my Marriott Titanium status was at the time I stayed there.

We stayed at the Doubletree with our family while driving through Johnson City on a road trip. The hotel staff was super friendly and everything was clean and worked well. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we were able to get two connecting rooms which we have had a hard time finding at other hotels. Our car was having some trouble and the staff was very helpful in giving us mechanic recommendations which were in walking distance . The hotel is also conveniently located near lots of stores and entertainment ( bowling and a movie theatre) . They boast an indoor and outdoor pool which our children really enjoyed. We needed an extended checkout time while waiting for our car and the hotel staff were super friendly and had no problem extending the time we checked out. The warmth of the staff , the facilities and the location were all great ! Thank you !

We direct billed for our stay and we were told at booking that our agency was a direct bill. We found out at check in that it wasn’t and a note was made on the account and we were never called. The staff at check in were very rude and we had to rebook with another chain at 9:30pm in an unfamiliar location after working a 15 hour shift. We should have been called when their mistake was discovered so we could have made other arrangements.

Not up to Hilton standards. Stayed at many Hiltons and love the brand. Understood they were remodeling, however, room had many flaws. Toilet ran for at least an hour after flushed. Toilet paper holder hanging off wall, trim around door was falling off, dresser where fridge was housed, was unlevel and would not opened unless pulled hard. Fridge unlevel and wobbled (we wound up leveling ourselves to ensure our stuff would not spill over.). Beds were comfortable and clean.Indoor pool needed maintained, multiple bugs/moths/dirt in the water, and it was ice cold!!!!!!! Just not Hilton standard what so ever. Told front desk and their response was “we will look into it” Not happy at all, no customer recovery …would not recommend this hotel.

Wasn't expecting to have to buy breakfast and pay $20 for one burger, fries and small coke for dinner. I have been a loyal Hilton honors member for several years but can't get away from work enough to achieve Gold or Diamond member status which is required to get the free breakfast. There is a Hampton Inn about a mile away that is a Hilton Hotel which cost the same amount per night, just as clean and welcoming but includes free hot coffee 24/7 as well as free breakfast. Will never step foot in a Double Tree Hilton Hotel again. They don't tell you when making your reservations that they charge for breakfast and evening coffee in the lounge.

I have actually stayed at this Doubletree property dozen of times when visiting my Johnson City office. There have always been little maintenance items that seemed to go unnoticed by the property management, but this property has become a less than desirable place to stay. I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member and stay at a Hilton property approximately 30 weeks per year. During this stay, it seemed that none of the HVAC units in the common areas, besides the restaurant, were operational. When looking out the window at the two main units, you can see that they are disassembled and not running. The temperature in the hallway was 90 degrees today. The front desk team member was sweating profusely (understandably so) as was the housekeeping staff member that I passed on the floor near my room. The vinyl floor in the elevators are peeling and not up to par. The shower doors in my room were hanging and swinging due to broken hardware. I, of coarse, had to run my room HVAC unit on low to ensure that the room was comfortable. It appears that the owners have given up on the property and I will never stay here again. I would not recommend this Hilton property to anyone. I will be staying elsewhere from here on out.

Last month we had to cancel last minute due to an unexpected death where we had to travel out of state. I thought I was doing the right thing by calling to cancel the day of our stay. I was advised by the hotel that since we booked with our Hilton points that they could not refund the points. I totally understand that. However, 2 days later they charged our credit card $550 for one night! The online rate that we would have paid was $175 had we not used points. I called the hotel to request and explanation and was told the manager would call me back, which they did not. As a long time Hilton Honors member, I am so disappointed.

Everyone is friendly and polite. There is hand sanitizer and wipes outside the elevator and conveniently located at the entrance. The room had extra wipes, as well. The beds are so comfortable, I didn't want to get up! The location is perfect for when you are traveling across TN and the beautiful morning air makes your day start out perfectly!
