We camped over the holiday weekend. We have been here numerous times, and although they do reserve certain sites, if you get there early enough, you can get a good space. Very large campground backing up to lots of hiking trails and streams. I don't...More

I decided at the last minute that I wanted to go back to the Smoky's over the 4th of July weekend. I couldn't find ANY campground with availability still, so I searched for campgrounds that had some first-come/first-served sites. While some of the sites at...More

We camped for 6 nights here. Amazing. We were in love. We drove to all other campgrounds in the actual park and this was our favorite. Although they did not have running showers here it was still amazing for camping and our favorite of all...More

This campground is clean, quiet, and beautiful. Not crowded at all, like the Cades Cove area. Right on a beautiful creek. Some nice trails leading right from the campground. The restrooms were nice and clean. My only complaint was a lack of showers.

This was a great campground with almost every spot shaded by mature trees. The trees also helped block out the rain which was helpful. It was quiet and we had no trouble finding a spot during the week. Tent pads were nice. Bathrooms were clean...More

Is the owner always a miserable and ride wretch? I stopped in to inquire about a year round campsite he had placed on Craigslist, that was available in June, and was so rudely talked to and screamed at! He answered the door 'what do you want lady?? We are closed!" come back in May, you and I could both be dead by then, why would I want to talk about something available in 6 months?? Oh I don't know maybe because YOU just placed an ad for something that would be available in six months?? I wouldn't give this rude owner a dime of my money!! Look elsewhere!!

The NP website says there are showers available outside the camp, which I assume means somewhere in town (or another campground) offers to let people shower for a fee. Is this actually the case or am I misinterpreting the NP website?

There are no showers in any of the campgrounds in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. There are many campgrounds outside the park you may shower for a fee.
Are the hiking trails at the Cosby campground a part of the Cherokee National Forest or Smokey Mountain National Park? Are dogs allowed on the trails at Cosby Camp ground?

Trails are part of the Smokey MT NP. Snake Den Ridge Trail is Beautiful, Awesome views at the top. Dogs on leashes ok.
