Room was clean and I received my digital key in a timely manner. The reason for a "Very Good" rating instead of an "Excellent" rating is due to an issue with my digital key. We arrived after 8pm after a long drive and wanted to get to our room for a quick rest before another long drive the next day. We pre-selected our room using the HHonors App and entered the building through a side entrance via the digital key. Unfortunately, the digital key did not work on my room door so my family had to stand at the door holding bags while I went to the front desk to get a physical key. Front desk staff was very pleasant and provided a physical key quickly.

Overall hotel was very clean, and the staff was friendly. King bed was very good, and the room was furshished well with nice TV, easy chair, closet. Bathroom was spotless. Complimentary breakfast was normal for this type of motel, and the breakfast area, although small, was very clean and inviting. I would definitely stay here again.

I had a king with a shower. Probably the best Hampton room EVER. The shower was phenomenal, the double shower heads are great and the size is perfect. Everything was clean and had no odors. The air conditioner was so quiet. Thank You

Our stay at Hampton Inn was both the best of times and the worst of times. We had one of those experiences where we want to give it another try but are fearful that we'll be disappointed.
Great Parts: 1. breakfast was outstanding. So much offered between hot food and continental, and everything tasted good. The people handling the breakfast area were welcoming and answered a family member's allergy-related questions with both compassion and a willingness to help.
2. Our bed was comfortable, and bedding was great.
3. Room darkening curtains worked great.
4. Plenty of small tables and area in the lobby for our extended family to gather and talk / play cards. We were there for a wedding weekend.
Bad Parts: Actually, there are only two, and they are related to the bathroom. I have heard reviewers claim that the key to whether a place is clean rests in its bathrooms. The Hampton Inn's bathroom in our room was horrible. We had mold nearly surrounding the bathtub that had grown in the clear caulk used to seal the tub. We had a few stink bugs appear climbing the wall. The maid service did a horrible job cleaning the floor. Caked up grime existed all along the wall edges, and a huge area existed behind the toilet.
We had only a two-night stay, and I heard people being turned away because the hotel was booked solid, so I did not complain for fear we'd lose our room. But upon check out, I let the desk clerk know there was a problem with mold in the bathroom and that they should probably do something about it before booking anyone else in the room. I was not complaining or demanding any type of compensation. In fact, I whispered it so nobody else would hear me. She didn't bat an eye and actually said, "Do you mean the mold growing under the caulk around the tub?" Obviously, I shook my head yes, but that concerned me that the hotel rented out that room with that mold issue knowing full well that it was there. Our room was either 207 or 209; I cannot remember which.

Don’t let my 3* rating be taken the wrong way. This hotel is a solid, it’s a Hampton Inn and doesn’t pretend to be anything else. The shower in our standard room was awesome and large enough to throw your family of 5 in there all at once with bathing suits if that’s how you want to do it. My wife and I were in town for a wedding and everything hotel nearby was very expensive that weekend but this place had a fair price.
Things I would change. The room had very few power outlets. Most of the plugs in the lamps didn’t work, and the power station on the desk was inoperable. Fortunately, we carry an 8 port USB charger for our phones, tablets, and watches and we found one free outlet in the bathroom. We had an odd experience with a housekeeper. I said hi to her on the elevator - she was going to the 2nd floor, I was on the 3rd floor and just checking out. Asked her how she was doing and she said “me? I’m out of gas”. And I said “well, if you’re scheduled to clean my room then you’ll get a tip to buy a few gallons”. She said “which room are you in”? When I told her, she literally left her cart on the 2nd floor and came to our room, collected the tip, said “thank you, I have to do my rooms on the 2nd floor and will be up here to clean later, I just want to make sure nobody else gets my tip”. We were like, um, ok. Then the housekeeper across the hall said “goodbye - are you checking out - if so I’m going to start on your room”. Ugh. So the first lady stole the second lady’s tip so we had to tip again. Unethical.
Breakfast is also solid, it’s not 5* solid, but it’s fine with waffle maker and that stuff. If you can go somewhere else for breakfast, you’ll probably want to after a few days.
Have a nice trip!

I’ve stayed at countless hotels since I’ve been in the infrastructure business, met a bunch of nice front desk folks who would bend the gates of hell for ya. This place here is not that. The manager is rude stops hard working folks at the door just to embarrass them about the dried mud on their feet instead of using the hotel credit card that they have in their possession to buy a boot brush to place outside the doors of the hotel. Here’s a thought, if you don’t want to vacuum your entry floors as much but want business buy a boot brush. These men and women are busting their butts for you.

Very nice Hampton close to town and dining. My first room had a loud AC unit, so I asked the front desk person for a new room, no problem. Everything was good from there. Note there is a little road construction in the area. Several restaurants near by for a quick meal. I would stay here again.

This is very much a base bottom hotel. The bathroom door stuck and was very difficult to get into the bathroom. once you got it closed it was almost impossible to open. The service was less than desirable. We had a service dog and was told that there was a PET DEPOSIT, by the front desk staff. We were more than happy to pay the pet deposit for our service dog. We made sure there was absolute not so much as a drop of dog food on the floor when we left. This dog is completely trained and is vital to our daily lives. When we got home we had a $250 PET CHARGE that the manager refused to refund. This is completely not what the front desk stated. If we had been properly informed we would have happily gone to one of the other 5 hotels at this exit. I can not even tell you how disappointment I am in the way the staff handled this situation and I highly suggest you try one of the other hotels at this exit. If I could give this location less than 1 star all the way around I most certainly would.

Response from Christa Cole, General Manager at Hampton Inn Columbia
Responded 3 Sept 2020
I am very sorry that you feel this is a base bottom hotel as we strive to make our guest happy in every way. I have addressed the issue with the bathroom door with maintenance and sincerely appreciate you letting us know. I do understand your frustration on being charged a pet fee and your threats. Unfortunately, our hotel is not a pet friendly hotel as stated by the night manager when the dog was noticed hidden under a towel. Due to our current cleaning procedures and sanitizing of our guest rooms, we must perform extra deep cleaning measures after an animal has stayed in the room. The room must also be closed to complete these procedures. This is the reason for the non-refundable pet fee. The hotel was never made aware this was a service animal. If this is the case, please contact me directly at 931-540-1222 to discuss. We welcome all service animals as they provide life saving support.

When traveling back and forth from MN to FL I always choose between Hampton Inns and another comparable Inn. I split the difference both ways and my experiences with Hampton were consistently better than the other. I felt they took Covid protocols seriously and that I was confident I was in safe hands. This was not true for the other. Employees always were in masks and I believed the rooms were cleaned to my safety standards. Next year I won’t split the difference. My four nights lodging will all be Hampton Inns.

We had business in Columbia and stayed here one night. We weren't familiar with the area, but this hotel, and several others, are on I-65 and not really that close to what I would call downtown Columbia, We were surprised that is was a little ways to get to town. The hotel was clean, but has definitely seen some traffic. I am sure it is a popular stop on the interstate. There were even a couple tour buses there, which i did not expect during COVID times.
We were given a very quiet room on the end of the hotel. We were also able to park our truck and covered trailer in a well lit part of the parking lot next to the pool area. The room is not very dark at night and while the traffic noise did not bother us, the ac had a dripping sound when it would start up that did wake us up some.
This hotel is close to several other hotels, a Cracker Barrel, and a Waffle House.

Good morning, when making your reservation please put your requests in the comment section. If calling the hotel directly, ask the staff member to pre-block you on the first floor near the pool. We do not require any thing regarding your service animal. That would be against ADA regulations. Thank you for considering our hotel during your travels.
Good afternoon Mark, Thank you for your interest in our whirlpool rooms. If you go to our Hampton Inn website and click on rooms & suites, scroll down to View all guest room and click it. Scroll down to 1 King bed with whirlpool. The whirlpool is offset into the wall. The whirlpool is actually beside the bed. Our whirlpools are not out in the floor like most other hotels. If you need our website information feel free to give me a call at 931.540.1222 and I will be happy to provide you with it and answer any other questions you may have!
