It's not a tiny village in the middle of nowhere. Very nice and cozy, we stayed in a nice little cottage with our own fireplace. Shared kitchen is well equipped. And this is a great place to watch Aurors.

Enjoyed my stay at the Tankavaara gold village! Went during the winter, so everywhere was filled with snow, it was really amazing and beautiful. The houses were cosy and the staff were very helpful. Also managed to get an excellent and spectacular view of the northen lights on one of the nights! This place is slightly out of the way,...

The place is beautiful both in winter and summer. The restaurant has great food and the museum is also nice and informative. The whole place is little outdated, but that is exactley what gives it it's charm! I think it is a must to visit here once you end up in Lapland.

The cottage (shared bathroom) was wonderful. It was beautifully made and clean. I saw the reviews saying that it's the best place to see the Northern Lights and that's why we decided to stay here. We were really lucky - we saw the Northern Lights twice, and the first time was on our first night! The owners were very nice...

Our sons were so excited about the gold panning. We past the museum and followed the signs, but there was no one around, and there was so much snow... It was a lovely sunny day; everywhere covered with snow. We walked along the Northern Lights trekking path, saw some huts across and thought the quicker the better and chose the...

We were lucky enough to return for a second visit to Lapland. Choose to stay at here again, in a hut named "Upa". Small, yet comfortable with a fireplace. The owners and all staff members are amazing - friendly, down-to-earth people and very helpful. The food - superb! Excellent location to view the Northern Lights. An overall, great experience! Highly...

We spent our Christmas time (4 nights) at this hotel and we came back really satisfied! The staff was very helpful and nice, everyone and everything was on time, very warm and cozy though tiny cabins. Our goal was to see the northern lights and we did! Out of many attractions we took a dog sledge trip and winter mobile...

We were lucky enough to have spent 5 nights at Tankavaara Gold Village - stayed in a hut called "UPA". Small, yet comfortable with a fireplace. Very romantic. The owners and all staff members were amazing - friendly and extremely helpful. The food - superb! We got to try local dishes... followed by several shots of Vodka... Got to spend...
