This is the largest KOA in the United States - which may be a little daunting to people - but it has a lot going for it. It is located right along the road to Mount Rushmore which is great. We just stayed for one night on our way to other locations. The Rushmore park is easily a one day...

Another fabulous week at this resort with my 3 grandsons 8,10,12 years old. I have stayed here 3 times in 5 years. Love this campground resort! Great location! So many activities for kids and adults. 2 swimming pools plus a long water slide in another part of campground. Tye dying T-shirts fun! A stage with various groups entertaining. Horseback riding....

If I could rate it separately as a resort and campground I would. 1st as a resort it is very impressive. A family with younger kiddos will find something to do everyday . At the main entrance day is a very nice front office/ store, mini strip mall like area with a tiny Wine/coffee shop, fudge shop, laundry services, pizza/Ice...

We paid the premium Sturgis rally rate of $89 per night for a pull-thru site at this KOA and felt ripped off. We were extremely disappointed with the very tight site spacing and significant slope of the site which required a lot of maneuvering since we don't have leveling jacks on our RV. Most annoying was the non-existent wifi which...

I have tent camped at Palmer Gulch KOA twice. Pros: Very large facility always has room. Great restaurant and bar. Great store. Great Location. Great bathrooms/shows. Cons: No Cell Service. Large facility means that I always have to walk a long way to get to the bathroom/shower. Always lots of people at Palmer Gulch. If you are looking for a...

The first impression of this KOA makes is it's sheer size. It's huge! Check-in was fast and easy and the people that take you to your site were friendly. We were in site 620, in the far end of the campground. It was a pull through, but because it was at the end, it made it awkward to get out....

This is our fifth time to the KOA and we will be back again. There are more than enough activities for the entire family and the park is well staffed to accommodate everyone. It is a busy park with campers coming/going at all hours so don't expect solitude but this campground is organized to handle the volume of visitors. Since...

They accommodated our request to be next to our travel partner's RV. Fire pits at each campsite were great! The store has about everything you need. We had the pizza one night and it was yummy. The kids enjoyed the fee putt putt, the mining, the ping pong and many more kids activities! The whole family enjoyed the $3/person all...

We recently stayed here while touring Mount Rushmore. Traveling with twin 11 year old boys in a small tent trailer we should have booked more than 2 night here! The place is massive yet it doesn't feel that way, maybe it was the section we were in. There is a TON of things to keep the boys occupied, water slide,...

This is a huge KOA resort with lots of things to do. During the peak summer travel season, it is very busy. My husband and I traveled with another couple and had two very large tent campsites with plenty of space to set up our tent and park. Water was easily accessible. Overall, the tent campsite was great. Location is...
