We wanted to stay at a hotel in Deadwood which was in keeping with the overall feeling of the town and Hickok's was a perfect choice. The room was elaborately decorated with a feeling of the late 19th. century. It was lovely. Lady at check-in and check-out was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is conveniently located in the centre...

Thank you for your nice review, and for being our guest. Many guests like our location is in the center of Main Street, a short walk to most attractions. While featuring all of the modern conveniences, our rooms are decorated with a Victorian flair that was common in the late 19th century. I will pass along your compliments to our...

Stayed for three nights in room 301. I was surprised how large the room was for a historic hotel. Also it was extremely sound proof for being on the street side. The bathroom is large and has a jetted tub. Towels are softer than normal hotel towels. The mattress did not hurt my back like most hotels do. The room...

Thank you for your kind words, and for being our guest. The rooms in our historic hotel are quite large. Prior to the hotel renovation, the 1898 structure served as an apartment building. During the restoration, hotel rooms were created that vary in size, but all are larger than the modern hotel variety. We try to provide quality beds and...

The hotel/casino staff, was more interested in counting the till, than dealing with strictly hotel customers. The rooms were dark and DATED. They smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The staff was not helpful at all. Getting to the room was a total maze. The sounds from the street echoed until well past 2 am for a Wednesday night.

Thank you for being our guest. I am disappointed that you found our staff to be lacking, as most of our guests find them to be courteous, kind, and helpful. With but 22 rooms we try to personally touch everyone. Most of our rooms are strictly "no smoking." Had you alerted us of your problem we certainly could have moved...

Went here to gamble. Seems the heater was on high. It was so hot. I went in to get something to eat as well and found out their $5 burgers are nothing more than frozen microwaved food. Didn't even come with fries. Had a loud obnoxious couple next to me. Ended up leaving after just an hour and going elsewhere.

Thank you for being our guest. This time of year it is difficult to adjust the casino temp to everyone's liking. We have spent thousands upgrading our HVAC system over the past year, and most of our guests find that the casino temperature to be quite comfortable. Many of our guests find our half pound cheeseburger to be a very...

We stayed on the third floor of this hotel. We had two bedrooms and a very large bathoom inside the suite. For the price it was quite a deal. The hotel has an interesting layout with lots of stairs and levels that gives it the feel of the original turn of the century building. Because it is an older building...

Thank you for your kind words, and for being our guest. Like you, many of our guests appreciate our Main Street location, in the center of town and close to all of the action and attractions. Our historic building was constructed at the turn of the century and does have different levels due to it's age. Completely restored in 2006...

The room was as I remembered it This is the 3rd time in 4 years that we have stayed here. We were in room 301 a non smoking room overlooking Main street. The Wi-Fi seemed to work better than last year, but I still found it, to be much better when I used the sitting area just outside the room...

Thank you for being our guest, and for your nice review. Many of our guests like the our rooms that overlook Main Street. Other rooms have a view of the Lawrence County Courthouse and mountains to the north, so either is nice. Our Wi-Fi should be stronger now that we have installed our Wi-Fi extenders. These historic buildings have thick,...

We spent 4 nights here from sept 21 to sept 25th on a cross country trip. We used this hotel as a base to explore the Black hills area. We were in room 209 in a king room, while the room was a bit small the large bathroom more then made up for the room size. This hotel has been...

While passing through, we opted for Hickok's Hotel based on other reviews. Another home run! Peggy (front desk) was fantastic! We had a complicated group travel reservation that needed straightening out and Peggy bent over backwards to accommodate us...smiling and laughing the entire time! A+++ for Peggy! The hotel itself is very clean. The woodwork is gorgeous! Our rooms were...

We loved staying at Hickok's! Very quaint with old style decor. Really enjoyed the room darkening shades! Surprisingly quiet for being downtown. Clean and comfortable! Didn't gamble in the casino so I can't offer much on that experience. Check in and out was very smooth. Nice to have our car parked in the garage, only bad thing is that it...

This beautifully restored hotel presents the atmosphere of the 1800's and the comfort of a modern hotel. Each room is different, so I can only comment on ours, which was a standard King.
