The owners were very accommodating for our late arrival and early rising. The bed got high marks from me because it was soft and cozy and the bedding/sheets were great. Breakfast was delicious of blueberry cream cheese pancakes and melon. Nice landscaping. We were in town on business and would stay there again.

Nice people and place and no complaints about the room, food or knowledge of LIW but when on vacation, you wouldn't expect to hear orders from the inn keepers about 1. Keeping the hot tub towels separate from the regular use (wouldn't that be the inn keeper's job instead of the vacationer?) and 2. NOT using the coffee. They asked...

Our family of four stayed in the American Medley room. The beds were comfortable. The location is good for walking around town. We enjoyed the games on the porch. The owners are very friendly. Breakfast was delicious.

They made us feel at home right away. The food was excellent. They gave us breakfast choices the night before so that we could each have what we wanted for breakfast. Our room had a whirlpool tub and our own private bath. Perfect location--only a couple doors down from the Ingall's house. Highly recommend.

My mother and I stayed here while doing a Little House on the Prairie tour the last week in May. The Prairie House Manor is just beautiful. Andy and Jen were great and breakfast was wonderful. It's two doors down from the Ingalls home in town and you can walk to the museum and to the downtown area. We only...

My daughter and I wanted a little time to explore DeSmet and the places that we read about in the Little House on the Prairie books. Never having stayed in a bed and breakfast before, I was hesitant to stay at the Prairie House Manor. Andy and Jenny made us feel welcome and comfortable from the beginning of our visit...

My husband and I needed some quiet time. This was the perfect place to stay. We were greeted by Jenny and cookies. The room was comfortable and so was the bed. The hot tub was clean and warm. Breakfast was the best ever with more than we could eat. We enjoyed an afternoon reading and playing pool on the front...

There is no better place to stay in DeSmet. We were visiting the Little House on the Prairie sites with our five children this summer and DeSmet was a major attraction for us. The bed and breakfast was just perfect. We stayed in the Americana Medley room which had a Murphy bed as well as two double beds - providing...

Are you planning a "Little House" vacation to De Smet, SD? Look no further than Prairie House Manor. This B&B is housed in the former home of "Banker Ruth" from Laura Ingalls Wilder days, and has a pleasant atmosphere and peaceful decor. The owners Jenny & Andy are incredibly kind people who truly open their home to their guests. A...
