That old saying was never truer than with Merridun. From the outside, it is in sad disrepair, and can even by a little frightening when you first see it. But on the inside, it is a beautiful old antebellum home with a great host in Peggy. Our room could not have been any better, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay....

This was our first time in Union and at the Inn @ Merridun. Simply put, the Inn is a magical, mystical place redolent of the splendor of the old South. Don't judge the book by it's cover. Although a little careworn, the interior is perfect. The real gem of the Inn, is the innkeeper, Ms. Peggy. She's warm, caring, sweet,...

This is a beautiful old world mansion built in 1855. Although restorations are needed they are underway. It has amazing character that has been added by the different owners over the course of the history of the home. Just pulling up to the Inn at Merridun you feel as if you stepped back in time. Peggy is the sweetest host...

We have visited the Inn at Merridun 3 times. The Inn is an antebellum mansion with lots of atmosphere, and is it always immaculate. Peggy, the Innkeeper, prepared us a 5 course feast on Sunday evening and the breakfasts were scrumptious. She is a wonderful cook and the food is absolutely delicious. She had yummy treats waiting for us when...

I just returned from an enjoyable stay at this Inn. It is an old home (1855) that has been partially remodeled. The rooms are very large and spacious, but what really makes the stay special is the cooking from the owner Peggy. Not only was the breakfast wonderful there were treats waiting for us each night. The home still needs...

I have stayed here on several occasions & have never been disappointed. It is like traveling back in time, with more modern comforts. The ambiance is wonderful as is the hostess. She is a great cook and a most friendly innkeeper. I found the housekeeping to be immaculate. Granted, there is a bit of peeling, but living in an old...

I stayed here when on a business trip years ago. I have such fond memories of Peggy and the Inn. I purchased one of her cookbooks and she signed it for me. I use it quite often. My favorite is her Butter Pecan Coffee Cake. You can try it if you go. Every evening, I got my choice of tea...

We have stayed approximately eight times and each time gets even better than previous. The food is better than superb. It is worth time and epense to have that special romantic meal cooked as it is usually 5-7 course. Just forget lunch and come hungry for an excellent dinner. Peggy makes the entire experience there an enjoyable one and goes...

We have stayed in several B&B'S, and the Merridum is the best of the best. Peggy is a gracious hostess and a wonderful cook. Our breakfasts were scrumptious and plentiful and the desserts were simply delicious. The desserts were were served to us, with coffee on the veranda. Also, I bought both of Peggy's cookbooks. The mansion is Antebellum, however...

The Merridun is a grand antebellum Mansion, with 14 foot ceilings, one gets the impression of being in a European castle. Recent renovations were recently done and the intricate porch ceiling had been painted and looks great. Phenomenal food, the Merridun is the only place in Union county to get a good upscale meal and the innkeeper is a warm...
