We stayed at the Edisto Beach State Park Campground for 4 nights in our pop up camper. We were in site #81 in the Live Oaks section, which was very private, quiet and shady. Our site had electric and water hookups, but no cable. The bathrooms/showers were very close to our site. They were clean in the morning, so we...

This was our second year camping in the live oaks part of the grounds and they are always very nice. The only issues that kept me from giving 5 stars was the bathrooms could have been kept a little better, they were pretty clean but ran out of soap and toilet paper on sunday and I'm high maintenence, and the...

We spent 3 nights here in April. We stayed at one of the sites near the beach and loved the convenience of having the beach path right next to our site. The facilities were all very clean and well cared for and the site was conveniently equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. The beach is very pretty and...

Nice, roomy sites. Big and fairly clean bath house with OK showers. Friendly staff at check in. Live Oak is 1/2 mile to beach. Gorgeous beach. Camping is pricey, but then its the location. Love South Carolina Parks. Good way to see the state.

Firstly, there are several parts to Edisto Beach SP. There are two completely separated campgrounds - Live Oak and Beach Front. Plus there is a rustic tent area and a cabin area. So read reviews carefully to know which part folks are talking about. We stayed in Live Oak, off the main highway into the island and NOT beach front,...

My husband & I took camping vacation, seeking a location near the ocean. We reserved in December 2014 for a trip end of March 2015. Two sites remaining, so we picked one by the Ocean dunes. We arrived by dusk and were given information about the general rules of the campgrounds. We had noticed on the website the day before...

Our first camping trip here. Enjoyed the tree hammock atmosphere and had a blast riding bikes on all the great scenic trails here. We camped in one of the sites that backed up to the main road. Even though these sites are heavily wooded offering privacy from your neighbors, the noise from main road can be a downer, especially if...

Positives: You are right on the Atlantic at the beach campground. Some sites more so than others. Lots of shells! Nice Atlantic beach. Negatives: Campsites are tightly packed for a state park. No paved or even worked roads. Pot holes are awful! Facilities need updating. Bath Houses are not very clean. Check-in is at offsite campground. Again terrible roads especially...

I have lived in SC for 14 years and have always heard praise for Edisto Island and Edisto State park. We usually stay in Charleston when we go to the beach but for this short trip we snagged a cabin rental for the "stay two nights get the third night free" deal the park offered. I couldn't find very many...

Campsites are a decent size but not all of them are well placed-some sites are almost on top of each other. Interior roads need grading. Check in needs to be in a different spot for the beach side camp area. It's difficult to navigate the interior roads especially with the low hanging trees. Overall it's a great spot and we'll...

“This is a real "getaway." No commercialism just you and nature. But near conveniences such as the pier and the "Pig" grocery store. Great beach and kids have a ball. Camping is the primary place to stay in the park. Great rental homes in very near vicinity.”
