Couples trip, January 2022. We were very impressed with the staff, especially Jimmy the bellhop who was so friendly to our little puppy Buster. Front desk and cleaning staff were also fantastic. The hotel is in the perfect location for exploring Charleston's historic district. We had a suite and it was clean and sizable. Probably my only minor complaint was that the shower water never quite got hot enough for me, but I do like it quite hot. It would be great if there was some kind of small bar in the spacious hotel lobby, as the hotel restaurant doesn't allow folks to sit through happy hour as they begin seating for dinner. Check out Tommy Condon's, just a short walk away, for a pint and some tunes.

Hotel with midcentury modern design in the heart of the French district in Charleston. Excellent on site restaurant and great outdoor patio and sitting areas full of books that beckon you to linger. Perfect location to discover this city. Wonderful restaurants, galleries and shopping nearby. Carriage tours begin one block from the hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street a little noisy before 11pm. Overnight was quiet.

During a business trip, I stayed in a Collector's suite. It was ideal for a business traveler as there was a spacious separate living area to eat, work and relax while keeping separate from the bedroom. While I was solo, there was plenty of room for a companion or the ability to host a small group without feeling too crammed. Dined several times at Frannie & The Fox and it was DELIGHTFUL every time. Drinks were well crafted and each bite was wonderful.

It was our first time visiting Charleston. Hotel was beautiful and in a great location. The Staff was super nice and were helpful! One of the gentlemen there even got us a hot cup of tea without any charge when it was late at night. I would have gave this hotel 5 stars but we did not like a couple of things especially with housekeeping. For the price you pay for the room it did not have a coffee machine, it only came with one robe (not even an issue, but they know 2 people are staying in the room) The cleaning of the room felt like it was rushed along with the fixing of the beds, no care put in it. Maybe short staffed? We expected better. Also the cost of valeting your car for the night was very expensive and for people who are actually staying at the hotel I think a little break on the cost would have been nice.

Dear angelakW4595IF - Thank you for your review and the kind words about our team! We feel we provide the perfect introduction to our beautiful city. Your feedback is noted, and I will certainly address directly with our Housekeeping department regarding the quality of service. Yes, we are still ramping up our staffing post-COVID, but that is no excuse for unsatisfactory service! While we do not have coffee machines in the rooms, we do offer complimentary coffee service each morning for our guests at Frannie & The Fox. And our valet rates are quite comparable (sometimes less!) than other hotels in the neighborhood, however, we also offer packages inclusive of Valet to better accommodate the many guests who are driving in. Our team would be more than happy to assist in selecting one of these during your next visit to Charleston! Kind Regards, Carly

This hotel is beautiful and in the best location. You can walk anywhere. The coffee bar and restaurant are wonderful. The rooms are VERY small (think NYC size) and would not recommend if you are bringing a family ...but probably great for a couple. There were issues with housekeeping and cleanliness. Maybe they are short staffed for housekeeping? Outdoor areas had used glasses and takeout food boxes. We called several times for towels and toiletries and then had to walk down to request. The evening front desk staff was somewhat dismissive.

Dear lkm108 - Thank you for your review, and I'm terribly sorry we fell short of expectations in the areas you noted. Our introductory room categories do start on the cozier side, but the vast majority of our rooms are suites offering plenty of living space whether you are traveling alone or with the family! We are working each day to bring aboard additional team members and elevate our service levels, but in the meantime, feedback such as yours is sincerely appreciated. I hope to welcome you again so you can see all of the improvements made! Kind Regards, Carly
