We were very fortunate to be able to enjoy our time in Charleston at the Governor's House Inn. Staying in the Lauren's Suite with its veranda made us feel like being home. You can't beat its location in the best part of town and the staff was accommodating without being stuffy. Highly recommend!

Lovely in every way - attentive staff, delicious (but not heavy) breakfast, excellent advice and assistance on attractions and dining, a delightful room - the Laurens, complete with its own piazza, and an extremely convenient location with its own off street parking. A perfect base for our get away weekend in Charleston.

My wife and spent five days here in the Jefferson Suite. This room is on the second floor of the kitchen building behind the main house. It is isolated from the activity of the house and very private. It has its own screened in porch, and is well appointed and comfortable. The main house is charming, elegant, and very well... More

The Governor's House was terrific! I would highly recommend it and look forward to returning as soon as possible. It has a great location in a very walkable town. The breakfast was nice, and the afternoon tea/wine hour was lovely. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The Barbados Room was nicely appointed, very comfortable and private.

The first event at the Governor's House Inn, upon checking in, is a wonderful tour and short history of the property. The second event (for us) was to be served an iced beverage and to sit and relax on the porch. Ahhh... the first indication of what Charleston is about: hospitality, food and elegance. We stayed in the Jefferson suite.... More

Stayed three nights in this grand mansion. We were warmly greeted and all of our contacts with staff, as well as guests, could not have been more pleasant. Location is excellent, not too close to the hordes but everything is within a lovely walk. Sitting on the porch sipping sweet peach ice tea is a vacation. Charleston is beautiful and... More

My sister and I just got back from a weeklong stay in the St. Michael's room at the Governor's House Inn at Charleston and it was FANTASTIC!! Not only was it in a great location (with just about everything within walking distance) but the service of the entire staff was out of this world. The room (and the entire Inn)... More

The Governor's House was the most wonderful bed and breakfast I have ever stayed in. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. This was our first visit to Charleston and they made our stay so easy with making dinner reservations, calling our rides and making suggestions on what to do and where to go. We enjoyed the afternoon "tea" time.... More

What a fabulous place to stay. Located to make foot access to historic Charleston easy, it is a beautiful place, with super hosts. Enjoy the fantastic breakfasts and afternoon canapés and wine on the veranda, and watch the world go by. Would thoroughly recommend this to anybody.

This is my first bed and breakfast and it was everything I had hoped it would be..Beautiful setting in Charleston. Lovely common area for visiting or relaxing in the parlor or outside on the wrap porch or veranda...The staff were all very accommodating, pleasant and helpful with everything from bags to reservations. Quaint afternoon teas and evening sherry. It was... More
