The Planter's Inn is a really nice small hotel in a great location in Charleston. We loved the rooms and enjoyed the coffee in the morning and drinks and treats in the afternoon. The service is excellent, and it's one of our favorite places to stay in Charleston.

Great place staff are very friendly and rooms are large and clean. Perfect location to the Market and many restaurants. Although a bit pricey, I think for a night or two it's perfect. All it needed was a swimming pool.

Extraordinary property, fantastic people and unbeatable location. The food is worthy of the trip alone. Best coconut cake in America. This is easily my 20th visit to the Inn and I've never been disappointed. My wife and I spent several days here on vacation this summer and it never gets tired, always fresh and relaxing. Loved the Planters Inn. Visited July 2015 and couldn't have picked a better place. The manager Bradley Dickerson found out it was my 50th bday and upgraded us to a suite. My wife and I loved Planters Inn. Great location. Beautiful property. Lovely room. And a welcoming and hospitable staff. Our room featured double-paned windows, a really nice feature that helped keep out noise from Market Street. As with all of Charleston, Planters Inn was full of character and charm.

Holding court in the very heart of Charleston's famed Historic District, the 64-room Planters Inn Relais & Châteaux is the city's iconic grande dame hotel. Uniformed doormen welcome every arrival, ushering guests inside the gloriously restored circa 1844 building to a sanctuary of elegant style and genteel service. Soaring ten-foot ceilings, dozens of working fireplaces, and a stunning collection of antiques and Baker Historic Charleston décor, including a sumptuous four poster bed in every guest room, create a luxurious ambiance described by Travel + Leisure as "akin to an overnight with well-to-do friends in their old Charleston mansion." Hushed tones of buttercream, Lowcountry greens, and pale powder blue paint the walls, while raw silk fabrics frame the windows. There's also more to Planters Inn than meets the eye: A hidden courtyard illuminated by flickering carriage lanterns provides a beguiling entry to Peninsula Grill, the city's foremost dining experience.
