We have stayed at the Planters' Inn many types over the years. Do yourself a favor and stay at this wonderful Inn. The rooms are beautiful and the location is great. Dinner at the Peninsula Grill is a special evening.

The Plantar's Inn in Charleston is not only historic (seth. in 1844, I believe) but it is just an elegant brush with that history. Beds are comfy (although ours was a 4 poster, very high off the ground and we could have used a small step stool as we are seniors), Hotel is ultra clean, bathrooms spacious and plush, staff...

There is no better - personal staff, well located, lovely rooms and suites. And their Peninsula Grill is one of Charleston's best restaurants. We go there every winter for one or two nights and return home relaxed and refreshed.

Convenient location and very comfortable. We had a King Plantation room, which was large with several comfortable chairs, side tables, lots of lamps. The first night we were in the first floor which was not so great. It is at sidewalk level and there is no privacy from people walking by outside unless the shades are closed entirely. Staff was...

Lovely venue decorated in colonial high style. Rooms have four poster beds, heavy draperies and stylish colonial-type furniture. Towels and bathrobes are plush. The Peninsula Grill on the property is elegant, and the food is fantastic. The location of the hotel is convenient to the Market and King St. Staff is hospitable, from the front desk to housekeeping staff.

My husband and I just spent three nights in one of the "grand king" rooms in the Planters Inn. What a gorgeous inn with spacious rooms. We stayed Sunday through Wednesday, and I think I remember the weekday rate being about half of what it was on a weekend (we paid around $250/night). The room was a good size for...

Elegant boutique hotel with great service. A fine location in the heart of Charleston. Easy to walk most places and Uber readily available. The weather was great, couldn't ask for much more. Happen to be there during the SEWE festival, so there was much to do

Excellent in every respect! This small boutique hotel is perfectly located to explore historic Charleston , and its restaurant, The Peninsula Grill, is a worthy complement to this fine property. The staff is friendly and efficient from the housekeepers to the servers in the Peninsula Grill. It is a repeat destination.

Holding court in the very heart of Charleston's famed Historic District, the 64-room Planters Inn Relais & Châteaux is the city's iconic grande dame hotel. Uniformed doormen welcome every arrival, ushering guests inside the gloriously restored circa 1844 building to a sanctuary of elegant style and genteel service. Voted #1 Best U.S. Boutique Hotel by readers of Travel + Leisure magazine, Planters Inn is a world of civility, sumptuous cuisine, and cultural pursuits. Soaring ten-foot ceilings, dozens of working fireplaces, and a stunning collection of antiques and Baker Historic Charleston décor, including a sumptuous four poster bed in every guest room, create a luxurious ambiance described by Travel + Leisure as "akin to an overnight with well-to-do friends in their old Charleston mansion." Hushed tones of buttercream, Lowcountry greens, and pale powder blue paint the walls, while raw silk fabrics frame the windows. There's also more to Planters Inn than meets the eye: A hidden courtyard illuminated by flickering carriage lanterns provides a beguiling entry to Peninsula Grill, the city's foremost dining experience. Planters Inn and Peninsula Grill are longstanding members of Relais & Châteaux, the exclusive collection of luxury boutique hotels and gourmet restaurants located in the world's most romantic, most cultured, and most memorable destinations.
