The room was good. Clean. Comfortable. Not fabulous- since it was a bit dated. Very roomy. Great location right on the market. The restaurant is top notch, but pricey. I thought it was worth it, but if it seems too high, just go for dessert. They serve an unbelievable mile-high coconut cake that is to die for.

The Planters is a very charming and centrally located hotel. While we did enjoy our stay here, for the star rating and price paid for this hotel, there was nothing that we were really blown away by. The room itself was nicely decorated, but only had one small window which made it very dark. I thought the bathroom could use...

Not your usual hotel. Old South charm with warm entry, high ceilings, heavy molding, beautiful paintings, carpets. Walking distance to many restaurants. Very nice rooms, beds, bath, linens. The staff was helpful and friendly. Parking is an issue as you have to use valet or public parking which is 1 1/2 blocks away. A bit awkward strolling down the street...

Our trip to Va Beach was cancelled because of a snow storm. We decided to make "lemonade" from our lemon. We called Planters Inn to see if we could stay in Charleston for 3 nights. The staff was friendly and encouraged us to come on and they would be waiting for us with a lovely room. The entire staff was charming...

Excellent location, beautiful decor, memorable rooms with divine beds and a spacious bathroom, top notch service and an exceptional restaurant, too. Our room was so wonderful, we all overslept each morning and were happy to do so! My family loved our Charleston vacation and a significant part of that was due to our stay at the Planters Inn. Highly recommended.

easy to return to this accommodation..the location and the dining was outstanding, the retrival of our car was timely and the staff, headed by Brad satisfied all our requests on a timely basis..The only disappointment was the balcony which did not provide much of a view but was private.

This was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. The hotel is reminiscent of elegant days gone by in the old South and the restaurant is always top notch! The staff were most gracious made us feel quite welcome.
