We had arrived in Charleston and found the room we booked at another hotel to be absolutely unacceptable. We luckily found space at Fulton Lane. When we arrived, we were tired from travel and also because we had lost time at this other establishment. We asked for a spacious king room and the innkeeeper, who probably could see how tired... My husband and I stayed one night at the Fulton Lane Inn. It is a quaint little boutique hotel in the heart of Charleston. Our room was large and well-appointed. The staff was very friendly and genuinely accommodating. There's a complimentary simple breakfast next door at their sister hotel as well as wine and hors d'oeuvres in late afternoon. We... More

Tucked away with a very unassuming entrance, this Inn is a delight! I wasn't so sure when I made my reservation, as the man that answered didn't seem too on top of his game. But when we arrived it was a different story. The distinguished lady that greeted us and checked us in was helpful and welcoming. Our room was... More

The thing I loved about Fulton Lane was the way they handled all of the little details. First of all our room was very nice and the location was great. What really stood out was the free continental breakfast they brought to our room each morning. I also loved that they had free cold bottles of water in the lobby... More

Susu and other concierges were extremely helpful. They were knowledgeable about the city and local restaurants. Our room was spacious. It was on the King St side which made it a little noisy. The free breakfast was limited but sufficient. The free bottles of cold water were great after walking. The stay would have been better with coffee in our... More

The hotel really had a Charleston feel which we enjoyed. High ceiling, large windows and a nice bathroom. And the location was great! Right in the middle of shopping and many of the tourist attractions. We were able to walk everywhere!

What a wonderful Inn! We stayed for 5 nights. We did not need to move our car. This is wonderful since the streets are narrow with plenty of one way streets. Charleston is a walking city and we were in the heart of it. Our room was large and clean. I loved the canopy bed. The staff-Jeff, Carol and Suzu... More

We stayed here on our honeymoon--the room was nice. We loved the Jacuzzi tub and proximity to restaurants as well as the Market Street. The complimentary breakfast was sufficient--one of our favorite features was the wine hour, great wine and it is included with the room! The associated restaurant Circa 1886 was delicious as well.

First time in Charleston, we were really impressed by the hotel. After seeing the small lobby I was having second thoughts until I saw the room. Everything was very nice and most importantly, it was clean. The hotel was right on the main street which was very convenient for walking. I can't say one bad thing about this hotel or... More

Central to all that Charleston has to offer visitors. Nice accommodations, comfortable rooms & the staff offers that hospitality that the Old South is so famous for. Carolyn and Susu at the concierge desk were especially helpful; very knowledgeable with recommendations for dining, what's currently playing, directions and best sightseeing experiences available. Breakfast in your room or in the Kings... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A romantic hideaway in America’s most enchanting city, The Fulton Lane Inn is private, intimate and exceptionally accommodating. The Fulton Lane Inn surrounds you with the comfort and gracious ambiance of a bygone era. Many of our spacious rooms feature oversized whirlpool baths and luxurious canopied beds, draped with hand strung netting. Other rooms boast cathedral ceilings and several offer fireplaces.Throughout, soaring windows frame captivating vistas of the city's historic skyline, punctuated with the many trademark church spires. The charm and spirit of the Old South live on in this historic inn, built by the family of Confederate blockade runner John Rugheimer. Regarded as the most sophisticated city in America, antebellum Charleston was the cradle of Southern gentility. The proper Charleston home then welcomed summer's casual pace by covering formal furnishings in airy muslin, replacing wool carpets with sisal, and positioning shutters to admit fresh breezes and to provide gentle shade. At the Fulton Lane Inn, that spirit has been beautifully recaptured. Here, light filters softly through louvered shades, casting an inviting glow on lush plants. The patina of fine woods, natural textures and soft pastels invite you to indulge in the simple pleasures of a more gracious time. During your stay, you'll be pampered with complimentary continental breakfast delivered to your room each morning. Our traditional Southern hospitality continues with sherry in the lobby each evening. Of course, our concierge is always at hand to attend to your every need. You're just a mere stroll from the famous harbor, historic homes and attractions. The Fulton Lane Inn is situated just off King Street, tucked away on a pedestrian lane in the heart of the city's famous historic district. The inn is literally surrounded by countless fascinating boutiques, scores of antique shops and elegant restaurants. There are countless ways to enjoy the Fulton Lane Inn. ... more   less
