The central location along King Street allowed us to walk to almost everything that we did while in town and worked out great. Our room was on the parking lot side in the back of the building, and the whole visit was very quiet. The room was clean, good-sized and well-appointed. Staff was mostly very friendly. The city was shutting...

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. The rooms are charming with a canopy bed and a fireplace. Our fireplace did work and the staff kindly moved us to a different room with a working fireplace. The inn leaves out water bottles to take during the day, which my husband loved. And we both enjoyed wine and cheese...

You are in the heart of the historic district and can walk to restaurants and the Market and shopping. The hotel is lovely and includes breakfast (in room if you want). We enjoyed having breakfast in bed and ordering what we wanted. Coffee is available in the lobby in the am and there is a wine and snacks happy hour...

The FTL is a nice place to stay, right in the mix of town. Rooms are a bit small but the staff is helpful, daily courtesies of wine and light snacks as well as port wine and sherry are provided at certain times of the day. Room was quiet. I recommend this hotel.

We stayed 4 nights in a king room overlooking King Street. Room was lovely, bed comfortable. I noticed a lot of reviews about a lack of curtains- they are there over the shades, you just have to pull them down. Bathroom was updated and ample. Room was surprisingly quiet- we didn't notice noise from the street. Complimentary wine and cheese...

My boyfriend and I took a long weekend in Charleston and the Fulton Lane Inn was perfect for our stay! It's located in a really walkable location (we didn't bring a car) in downtown. We got a room facing King Street with a super comfy king size canopy bed. Bathroom was remodeled which was nice, but the inn keeps its...

This charming hotel is perfectly located in the main shopping area (King Street) and only steps away from the old market area (Market Street) and carriage rides, yet It's quiet. It's a welcome break frorm glassy, glossy cookie cutter types that don't fit the character of the city where they are located; it fits Charleston perfectly and is almost like...

We had arrived in Charleston and found the room we booked at another hotel to be absolutely unacceptable. We luckily found space at Fulton Lane. When we arrived, we were tired from travel and also because we had lost time at this other establishment. We asked for a spacious king room and the innkeeeper, who probably could see how tired...

Tucked away with a very unassuming entrance, this Inn is a delight! I wasn't so sure when I made my reservation, as the man that answered didn't seem too on top of his game. But when we arrived it was a different story. The distinguished lady that greeted us and checked us in was helpful and welcoming. Our room was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A romantic hideaway in America’s most enchanting city, The Fulton Lane Inn is private, intimate and exceptionally accommodating. The Fulton Lane Inn surrounds you with the comfort and gracious ambiance of a bygone era. Many of our spacious rooms feature oversized whirlpool baths and luxurious canopied beds, draped with hand strung netting. Other rooms boast cathedral ceilings and several offer fireplaces.Throughout, soaring windows frame captivating vistas of the city's historic skyline, punctuated with the many trademark church spires. The charm and spirit of the Old South live on in this historic inn, built by the family of Confederate blockade runner John Rugheimer. Regarded as the most sophisticated city in America, antebellum Charleston was the cradle of Southern gentility. The proper Charleston home then welcomed summer's casual pace by covering formal furnishings in airy muslin, replacing wool carpets with sisal, and positioning shutters to admit fresh breezes and to provide gentle shade. At the Fulton Lane Inn, that spirit has been beautifully recaptured. Here, light filters softly through louvered shades, casting an inviting glow on lush plants. The patina of fine woods, natural textures and soft pastels invite you to indulge in the simple pleasures of a more gracious time. During your stay, you'll be pampered with complimentary continental breakfast delivered to your room each morning. Our traditional Southern hospitality continues with sherry in the lobby each evening. Of course, our concierge is always at hand to attend to your every need. You're just a mere stroll from the famous harbor, historic homes and attractions. The Fulton Lane Inn is situated just off King Street, tucked away on a pedestrian lane in the heart of the city's famous historic district. The inn is literally surrounded by countless fascinating boutiques, scores of antique shops and elegant restaurants. There are countless ways to enjoy the Fulton Lane Inn. ... more   less
