Easy to find, staff helpful and friendly, room was clean, breakfast was good, free parking behind the inn was a definite plus. Now for a couple negatives. We were there for 4 nights, and the last 2 by 7PM did not have any hot water, lukewarm at best, mentioned it after the first night but did not improve. The room was...

The Barksdale House is in an ideal spot for shopping and site seeing. The staff are both friendly and knowledgeable and were able to help us with suggestions and directions. There is ample and free off street parking which is a big plus in busy Charleston. We enjoyed our stay but found the neighborhood noisy. We were awakened one morning...

The Barksdale Inn was built in the late 1700s so the interior reflects the time period and remodeling. We easily found the Inn as we made our way from the airport and the Inn has plenty of parking spots in the back. We were greeted and given a second floor room that faced the back upstairs patio and the carriage...

The staff is very friendly and Food is great. This bed and breakfast close to everything you need for dining, shopping, etc. Will for sure stay here again in the future. Referred a friend for the Bridge run weekend and now they have stayed here for two years in a row.

As others have written, you cannot bet the central location of the Inn. It is between King Street (the main shopping street) and Meeting street, part of the Museum mile. There is also free parking between the main house and the extended house. We stayed in room 12 which is on the second floor of the extended house. We we...

This is an interesting place to stay, a very old property with lots of character. Not suitable for those who are really fussy but I loved it. It is ideally placed for exploring Charleston. The staff were friendly and helpful with suggestions for places to eat etc. I loved the breakfasts, always delicious fresh fruit and granola, plenty of breads...

From the outside the Barksdale House Inn looks very charming and is located in a wonderful location right off of King Street. The best thing about this Inn was Pam who cooks the hot breakfast on the weekends. Other than that- this Inn is a total disaster. We were in the back house, off of the main house. Room 11...

We thought we'd give this place a try on our visit to Charleston this weekend. We travel to Charleston fairly often and usually stay in hotels downtown. Since I try to say something positive in all of my reviews, I'll start by saying the Barksdale House Inn is in a great location and it has free self parking. Moving on...

This small inn is next to the College of Charleston. The rooms are comfortable, quiet, and 1/2 block to King St- the main shopping and restaurant street. The free trolley is 1/2 block away as well and it takes you right downtown to the tourist area. Tourist Information is only 3 blocks area. Great breakfast too!

i booked this hotel because I prefer local, small hotels with character--and in this case the price was competitive to the chain hotels. My room was #11 in the hotel's separate building. Apparently an older converted residence with 10' ceilings, wooden floors, armoires in place of a closet, with a king size 4-poster bed and a rather worn area carpet. In...
