We had a lovely stay at the Barksdale Inn. Great location with restasurants nearby. The staff was helpful and it was very clean. We were on the third floor in a king bedroom. The bed was great as were the linens. The climb to the third floor was a bit daunting on a regular basis. The food was good and... More

All Barksdale staff were very helpful, and it had high standard facilities in an historical building. Well located to be able to walk to French quarter or to museum area. Good breakfast with hash browns, good parking option. Just try not to get a room on the third floor ; not good with heavy bags.

Went for a short stay in charming Charleston with one of my sons. We stayed in this charming Inn. We got a room with a lot of nice "southern" atmosphere. The location was great and a short walk to the main street

The Barksdale Inn is a small hotel which is conveniently located down town between King and Meeting on George. Our room was clean and bright. The staff is amazing. We enjoyed afternoon snacks as well as a superior continental breakfast. This is an excellent value as well as being a pleasant starting point to explore Charleston. On site parking is... More

Loved the location-helpful managers -nice breakfast-large rooms - house in need of a facelift...it's tired..they are aware of the rodent problem and trying to deal with it...I suggested a cat! Overall convenient, but needs lots of work...

Was supposed to stay here my first night in SC but Hurricane Matthew had other ideas. I had called in advance of my stay to discuss my cat allergy as they are pet-friendly and they were SUPER accommodating. Finally was able to make it there on my last night in SC and they honored my original rate. Beautiful and spacious... More

Its really central and there is free parking but the room didn't really feel clean & there were bugs in the bath. Pictures on the website don't appear to be recent. I think the building & back house were once grand but the place needs a little refreshing! Pity because it negatively impacted our trip to charleston.

Very special place in the heart of Charleston. Staff went out of their way for my sisters and I to make our stay memorable. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The outside area in the back was perfect for breakfast and for enjoying wine and appetizers that we supplied, staff were kind enough too supply glasses and wine bucket. Highly recommend... More

I really liked the Barksdale House. It needs some upkeep but still has a LOT of charm. Our room was nice and clean but the chairs could be more comfortable. We loved the cookies and coffee at check-in. The expanded continental breakfast was very tasty. Staff were friendly. Unfortunately, a tropical storm hit and the parking area was flooded. That...
