If you are visiting Newport, Rhode Island you have to stay at Escobar’s Farmhouse Inn in nearby Portsmouth, Rhode Island. When you open the door and walk inside, you enter a home that should be featured in House and Gardens. It is absolutely gorgeous and spotless. Every room is decorated with antiques and an eclectic mixture of furniture and paintings....

My sister and I stayed at the inn in November for my son-in-law's retirement. It was our first experience at a bed and breakfast and what a wonderful experience it was! The farmhouse is absolutely charming. Our room (The Mary) was beautifully decorated, spotless and so comfortable. We loved having our own private bath. Stuart, the innkeeper, was so thoughtful...

Farmhouse has been remodeled and decorated with a collector's touch. Unusual and fanticiful paintings and antiques are loving placed with an artist's eye. There is a working dairy farm across from the cornfield . Visitor friendly chickens, goats and a pet pot bellied pig will greet you near farmyard entrance. Dawn views of rolling hills and distant water are awesome. Breakfast...

We spent the weekend here Nov 2nd -4th. Stuart is the best innkeeper I have ever known. He is so thoughtful and personable. He cooks breakfasts that are truly made from scratch using the local resources. ( Escobar Farm is a Cabot Creamery Cooperative farm.). The house is nicely decorated with many antiques. Guests can enjoy the common area and...

My wife & I recently had the pleasure of spending three nights at Escobars farmhouse inn. I can’t believe there are only 8 reviews for this superb B&B but they all give Escobars 5 stars. There are four rooms, two on the ground floor and two on the first floor with the Katherine suite being the largest . . ....

My boyfriend and I came for a small weekend get-a-away, and it was absolutely amazing! The service was phenomenal, and the room was clean, comfy, housewarming, and just overall beautiful. I have never stayed in such a place. On top of the place being so great, the food was worth every bite of the calories I shouldn't be in taking...

Surprising as it may sound, this lovely farmhouse is just off of the main road and is an oasis of comfort and calm. The pampering begins when you walk in the front door. You are greeted as a member of the family, offered homemade cookies, and given the lay of the land by Stuart, innkeeper extraordinaire. There are 4 charmingly...

We had an amazing time at Escobar's Farmhouse Inn when we stayed earlier this month. The room we stayed in was very well maintained, clean and tidy. The Inn itself is lovely and equipped beyond belief. The innkeeper Stuart, along with Josh and Lucy (the dog) were all delightful and very welcoming. Our home cooked breakfasts were a lovely start...

I was looking for somewhere to base ourselves in Rhode Island for a couple of days en route from New York to Cape Cod and happened upon Escobar's website. I am so glad I did! It was perfect. Portsmouth is a great base - on Newport's doorstep, but not Newport prices. Equally close to picturesque Bristol to the north, and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Escobar's Farmhouse Inn is owned by Jane and Louis Escobar, and run by Innkeeper Dawn. The inn is located across the street from Escobar's Highland Farm, one of Rhode Island's few remaining dairy farms. The farm was acquired by Louis' father in 1937. The Inn has always been a dream for Jane, and she has worked diligently for several years to create a comfortable "home away from home" for her guests. Each of the four rooms are named for Louis and Jane's parents, Tony and Mary Escobar, and Walter and Katherine Rzegocki. ... more   less

“The Walter Room has two queen beds and a daybed, easily accommodating five friends -- it was lovely and spacious. The Katherine Suite, just down the hall, can easily fit a good-sized family -- it has a king bed, a queen bed, a double and a single -- AND has a full kitchen! Great for a family reunion or special occasion.”

“The Walter Room was a very large room and could accomodate a family. There was some road noise during the day, but was quiet at night.”

“The Tony Room does not have a private bath in the room. It has a private bath across a small hallway so if that bothers you, stay in one of the rooms with the private bath inside your room.”
